Jumped on the Avon Grenade

in the early morning on Wednesday, the 27th of August 2008 by Chad

My boss was just telling the story about the woman who used to work here who had so much makeup and perfume on all the time it looked like she jumped on the Avon Grenade just before it detonated.

Hot Dogs no genitals included

at around evening time on Tuesday, the 26th of August 2008 by Tina

Anti-meat freaks out to kill the Hot Dog…

Ok I hate hot-dogs personally, my hubbie would eat the ones outside the hardware stores. ick!

This article is interesting.. and the bottom line, hot-dogs aren’t meant to be a one-day-vitamin (duh!).

The commercial’s pro-vegetarian sponsors say it’s a dramatization that highlights research linking processed meats, including hot dogs, with higher odds of getting colon cancer.

There Goes A Whole Hippie Industry

mid-morning on Tuesday, the 26th of August 2008 by Chad

Researchers have warned that burning joss-sticks and incense is associated with “an increase in some types of lung cancer, and cancers of the upper respiratory tract, such as throat and mouth cancer”, the Guardian reports.

In what represents a terrible blow for hippies and Strategy Boutiques*, a 12-year study by Dr Jeppe Friborg and his colleagues of the Statens Serum Institute in Copenhagen supported previous research showing incense fug “contains cancer-causing chemicals such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons, carbonyls and benzene, which cause mutations to DNA in human cells”.

So how is it that burning anything at all, from steaks on the grill, firewood, cigarettes, etc., all cause cancer, but the favorite hippie mantra is that smoking dope doesn’t do anything bad?

The Real News from Georgia

mid-morning on Tuesday, the 26th of August 2008 by Chad

Leave it to Michael Totten for when you want the inside story as to what is going on.

TBILISI, GEORGIA – Virtually everyone believes Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili foolishly provoked a Russian invasion on August 7, 2008, when he sent troops into the breakaway district of South Ossetia. “The warfare began Aug. 7 when Georgia launched a barrage targeting South Ossetia,” the Associated Press reported over the weekend in typical fashion.

Virtually everyone is wrong. Georgia didn’t start it on August 7, nor on any other date. The South Ossetian militia started it on August 6 when its fighters fired on Georgian peacekeepers and Georgian villages with weapons banned by the agreement hammered out between the two sides in 1994. At the same time, the Russian military sent its invasion force bearing down on Georgia from the north side of the Caucasus Mountains on the Russian side of the border through the Roki tunnel and into Georgia. This happened before Saakashvili sent additional troops to South Ossetia and allegedly started the war.

If you want the real news in the Middle East or other hotspots, wait for Michael’s reporting.  Donate to the guy if you can, remember he helps you to understand what is actually going on.  That’s gotta be worth more than one of those ghey latte’s from Charbucks.

Of course, now you know it must be the truth.  The Russians are apparently doing a DDOS attack against Michael’s server.

Just Sharing the Humor of Job Interviews…

around lunchtime on Sunday, the 24th of August 2008 by Tina

This is a flash back.. from entertaining interviews I have experienced over the years.. Would love to hear yours too. (these are not any specific order)

The 1st computer job I applied for, I was told I had too much computer experience for the job.. HUH? so I guess I was able to identify the keyboard, mouse & monitor.. wow you could run this place (ugh).

In contrast, as a teen when i looked for retail work.. I was told I did not have enough experience. So I guess identifying customer and product isby far more of a challenge then computer work? Humm.. interesting, so what are those colleges up to when they offer courses and degrees on computer work?

The first time I worked in an optical shop.. I did not have experience.. but apparently the person who interviewed me was impressed I wore eyeglasses.. he replied “well you wear eyeglasses, that is good enough”.. YIKES! I ran that shop solo.. I read everything i could get my hands on.. and soon was training (their employees in) several states.. but I know I am not the “norm” for such a situations.

That led me to my next employer who heard about me (she sought me out for the job).. and wanted me to work for her.. during the interview she asked if I would be after her job. SIGH! I said no.. since she worked salary, and I would be hourly and I was an over-time queen!

Another computer job.. the interviewers were slouched in their chairs, barely awake for the interview..just following their script. When they came across the worlds most idiotic question that can be asked in an interview I had to comment! The question.. “are you dependable, etc..” I thought i would lose my mind. I took a moment, then said.. “are you serious?” they looked at me (finally).. I then added…”do you EVER get someone in here who would answer.. yep, i am as unreliable as they come, don’t come in on time, take 3 hours lunch breaks, leave early, and when i am here i will do whatever i want.. but it won’t be work?.. so you ever get that response?” They looked at me shocked.. apparently this had not dawned on them or the thousands that had been employed there. I got that job.. I did get the job, but also I could not wait to escape. Now here is the shocker..they crumbled and closed up.. go figure.

Straight from the mouth of the obamamessiah

terribly early in the morning on Sunday, the 24th of August 2008 by Katie

Who is the next President of the United States?  Well according to Obama, it is Joe Biden.

And, I would love to insert the youtube video at this moment, but evidently, so many people are enjoying it, that I can’t load it on this site.

But, there was Obama as he proudly said:  “I would like to introduce you to the next president, um, er, ah, I would like to introduce you to the next vice president, Joe Biden…)

And yes, McCain did jump at that gaff.

And yes, the media stated how unfair McCain was, using an obvious “flub” against the Obamamessiah.

Tit for tat I say.

Because all week I have been hearing the clip of McCain, when he wasn’t sure how many houses he owned.  The Obamaphiles and the Obama commercials have gloatingly shouted that 1) McCain was too old to remember and /or 2) McCain was too rich to understand the common man’s problems.

The truth about the houses - McCain doesn’t own any.  His wife does.  Well, sort of.  His wife’s corporation owns them.  And, one of those was bought for an elderly aunt of the wife’s.

Charity begins at home, right?

Well, not in the Obama home.

Biden is Obviously Popular

in the early evening on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2008 by Chad

I’m getting so many hits from searches for Joe Biden.  Such as:

So, the combinations of "Joe", "Biden", "Sucks" and "Loser" are really bringing in some hits.  This Internet stuff really shows it like it is.

Meet Obama’s VP: Biden the man with foot-in-mouth disease…

in the early evening on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2008 by Tina

Well go figure, the 1st thing Biden does is attack Republicans. (NOTE: we,my hubbie & I, escaped Delaware because it is insanely liberal out there.. and Biden was a symbol of that insanity).

the newly minted vice presidential candidate quickly turned his campaign debut into a slashing attack on Republicans seeking four more years in the White House

Obama chose Biden for his experience, due to his own lack of experience.. is that a knee slapper or what? I am so sure there were much better choices.. but Obama is clueless.. so it just makes sense he would pick an a-s-s (Biden).

Obama turned to a seasoned congressional veteran well-versed in foreign policy and national security issues to help blunt Republican criticism on his lack of experience in these areas.

Summary of Biden…

Biden has established a generally liberal voting record and a reputation as a long-winded orator

My Hippy Rant…

in the late afternoon on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2008 by Tina

Wow even the Hippies are souring on Obama! YEAH!

Perturbed that Sen. Barack Obama, who is scheduled to accept the Democratic nomination at the convention, is “softening on the idea of ending the war and stopping the violence,”

They plan a protest with T-shirts at the DNC.

These whack-a-doos are against pretty much everything.. no wonder they clung to Obama, and now are annoyed with the flip-flopper. He at one point backed their views. Ha-Ha (said in the annoying tone heard on “The Simpson’s”)

Just when I thought that the election couldn’t get worse

terribly early in the morning on Saturday, the 23rd of August 2008 by Katie

Sob.

Although, Biden is bound to put his foot in his mouth again.  And I hope that it is on tape.

Unfortunately, for DE, if he wins, then we have a Dem Gov (OK, what else would we have?).  The Dem Gov would then place Baby Biden in his daddy’s senate seat.  And then Baby Biden would stay there, forever, just like his dad.

Sob.

Isn’t there a Better cause?

in the late afternoon on Friday, the 22nd of August 2008 by Tina

$200K raised.. donors paid $2,300 each (most if not all celebrities).. don’t they have a better cause? (so that is under 90 people.. hopefully that is all that will vote for Obama, grin).

They admire him….they sang camp-fire songs.. and surely were smoking something nasty from how this story sounds.

One moron says this is the 1st election she paid attention too.. wow if you paid attention you certainly would NOT be backing Obama! This moron adds the reason for paying attention is because she is a mom now.. uh huh right, (I know plenty of mom’s and kids take up allot of time.. time to dedicate to an election is not a luxury they have).. and this woman thinks he is amazing, she admires him.. for WHAT??

Of course some (of the supporters) flipped on who they support.. from Hillary to Obama.. with how much those two were slinging crap at each other, how can you respect the opponent? One idiot states.. “he stands for everything I believe in”.. really, do you have an idea what that is? you might wanna share that with the rest of his zombie followers, cause they don’t know.. in fact share with Obama.. since he has no idea what he stands for! “he’s inspirational & what this country needs”.. huh? ok so we need a confused, flip-flopping moron with no experience and no clue, who would be more disastrous to this country than having an one-celled organism in office?

Of course the collection of celebrities mentioned in the article collectively share one brain cell if that .. they are definitely not the higher life forms of Hollywood..

VIP donors paid $2,300 each to attend the Black and White Gala for Barack Obama at a private home in Beverly Hills.

Correcting past (Spelling) Errors will cost you.

mid-afternoon on Friday, the 22nd of August 2008 by Tina

Seeing errors really plucks at the nerves of many. I have been bothered by it too, but these guys take it a step further. How about being arrested and charged thousands of dollars for such an obsession?

Part of the “charm” of spelling errors of the past tells allot about the people who made those signs, I think these guys need to relax.. but does not seem they will.

Jeff Deck and Benjamin Herson pleaded guilty Aug. 11 for the damage done March 28 at the park’s Desert View Watchtower. The sign was made by Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, the architect who designed the rustic 1930s watchtower and other Grand Canyon-area landmarks.

"Silly Season" Dem-convention spills over to Colorado Spring… EWWW

mid-afternoon on Friday, the 22nd of August 2008 by Tina

Run for cover.. I was annoyed to hear that Denver was hosting the Democrats.. but then again Denver is very liberal (certainly in comparison to Colorado Springs)… But when it starts heading down the highway to us.. ugh!

It is bad enough when they seep in through your telephone line. Recap: my previous post where I told the Obama caller that we definitely do not support Obama.. and she was all excited, since she obviously has the selective-Obama-hearing disorder.. she went on, and said you need to spread the word.. which I replied, I definitely am doing that.. still she did not get it.. she even called back to ask if I wanted to volunteer for the Obama campaign, which I replied, why on earth would I? which she obviously was supervised by that reply.. then eventually she finally “got it”. Though apparently not, as I received another call personally inviting ME to be part of the campaign, due to my interest.. HUH? They really don’t get it, not one iota!
