The South Korean government, in an effort to raise money for its military, wants to sell nearly a million antique M1 rifles that were used by U.S. soldiers in the Korean War to gun collectors in America.

The Obama administration approved the sale of the American-made rifles last year. But it reversed course and banned the sale in March – a decision that went largely unnoticed at the time but that is now sparking opposition from gun rights advocates.

A State Department spokesman said the administration’s decision was based on concerns that the guns could fall into the wrong hands.

This does make sense.  Oh, I’m not saying it’s the right thing, or the Constitutional thing.  I’m saying, from the perspective of a Democratic Congress and Administration.

For you see, with talk of Reid and Pelosi going to try to pass every single thing possible that those fascists have ever wanted through Congress in a lame duck session after they lose horribly, the last thing they want is an armed, incredibly pissed off populace.

Authorities are negotiating with a man wearing a suspected explosive device who has taken "a small number" of hostages at the Discovery Communications building in downtown Silver Spring, Montgomery County Police said at an afternoon news conference.

Hmmm, doesn’t sound that friendly.  I wonder, what did the Discovery Channel do, that was sooooo bad?

Fortunately, we know, because the idiot left a list of demands.

A manifesto posted on a Web site registered to a person named James Lee, who gave a post office box in Canada as his address, lists several demands to the Discovery Channel, saying the station "MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet." It lists 11 demands about airing shows that would promote curbing the plant’s population growth, finding solutions for global warming and dismantling "the dangerous US world economy."

Specifically, his demands include:

"All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions," it reads. "In those programs’ places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it."

Gee, maybe he’d prefer live programming from the neighborhood Planned Parenthood.  I bet lots will queue up to see the “Abortion Hour”.

Somehow, I think that he reads too much Gore and Holdren.  I can’t wait for the MSM outcry over those dangerous works…..  Yeah, right, like that will ever happen.

We have such a creature.. John Suthers, the Attorney General of Colorado.. If I were to describe who my perfect candidate as a US President would be, this would be that person. Alas he is not running for that position, but I sure hope we have such a person run in 2012, I would back them 100% instead of just voting against the other person, which has been the common thread in the past.

Key Points:

Why sue saying obamacare is unconstitutional?

• #1 This has to do with more then just healthcare.
• This is about the Constitution, our rights, and further control by the Federal Government.
• There is no Healthcare power in the Constitution.

What is Federalism?

• The Federal Government can only exercise the powers specifically given in the Constitution. All other powers are reserved for the people & the states.

Does obamacare fall under Interstate Commerce?

• “Interstate Commerce” regulates economic activity, that impacts interstate commerce. Never has this power been used to punish for economic inactivity. Now they are threatening a fine for NOT purchasing health insurance.
• If the courts sanction this expansion of federal power, to punish for not purchasing a service or product.. they could instead of offering a tax deduction for purchasing solar panels, they could in turn say we will fine you if you don’t purchase solar panels.. instead of offering a rebate for buying a certain car, they could fine you for not having that specific vehicle. (That is what they will be doing under Obamacare).

What about states that already require healthcare?

• States with this power (to force healthcare) i.e. Massachusetts: Which requires to have health insurance, and the specific type. In Massachusetts, you can not purchase a $5k deductible plan, you must select a $2k deductible plan, which costs more.

It has been argued Federal law outweighs State law?

• There has to be an Enumerated power to permit the Federal Government to be involved.
• And this is part of the problem, they are reaching outside of the Constitution!

Obamacare & Taxes:

• Obama said “this is not a tax”, so it would not have anything to do with the commerce clause, or enumerated powers.
• Yet, Congress has the powers to tax, so for this to be somehow allowed “it is a tax”
• BUT.. Obama said this is not a tax, when campaigning, and when he was elected & first proposed it. The when the federal government filed to dismiss the case with Virginia & Colorado, they turned and said it is a tax.

Why it is not a lawful tax:

• The Federal government can impose a tax on a taxable transaction, in economic transaction. Because of the 16th amendment they can tax your income & payroll.  They can not tax for simply existing (a capitation tax is specified in the Constitution Article 1 section 9, it has to be apportioned by the size of the state. )
• This is a part of the concern of over-reacting government, and expanded power.. where does that reach end?

How many are involved in this law suit?

• 21 states involved in a suit against obamacare, plus the The National Federation of Small Business.

What’s next, how long will this take?

• Sept 14th on Federal Government decision to dismiss. Court of Appeals will take another year, and then it will go from there till ultimately go before the Supreme Court.
• This will be resolved before the 2014 goal of when Obamacare would begin.

The reality of all this.. the price of freedom for healthcare? And what do you get for that price? Subpar care, longer wait, less advances, and who knows what else.

There are those who do not see freedom as that big of a price. Do they know where the line is drawn? Do they know what they will end up giving up? Do they realize the end result of the economy? Our choices will be taken away, maybe one by one, maybe bundle by bundle. What made this country great will be destroyed.. it was the freedoms that made us great, it was our choices that allowed us to be strong.

For those who are trying to convert America into a Socialist country.. Socialists are lazy, why exert so much energy in converting the US.. just move to an already established socialist country. As long as they are not hurting us, honestly I do not care what they do.. enjoy! If you want to stay here, play by OUR rules! Toss in a little of speak our language, and we have everything wrapped up!

How often do you end up seeing the term “racism” tossed about lately? It has gotten ridiculous! As I shared with a friend, “racist” has become the liberal battle cry. It only confirms their ignorance, and inability to communicate, discuss, or argue in any way shape or form. The 3 year old with a shot gun, which fills the mind as you are picturing a toddler toting a shotgun.

The 18 year old mother (do the math there, at the high end she was 14 when pregnant, or perhaps 13).. well.. again where do I start?

There was a .410 shot gun, the toddler loaded with .38 bullets, so now we know they have at least the shot gun & something that takes .38 ammo in the house.. and fully accessible to the toddler, and the toddler knows how to load, and fire the shotgun!

Whatcha think.. their closet looks something like this: (now I would have no issue personally, I would when it comes to access by a toddler!)

A 3-year-old Seaford boy grabbed a shotgun from a closet Wednesday, walked out on his porch and fired at a firehouse across the street, hitting a garage window and a roll-up door, police said.

Apparently the firehouse was just target practice, since thankfully no one was harmed.. well except his index finger, again amazing as he is just 3 years old, and was handling a shotgun!

Though no one required medical treatment, the boy suffered two minor cuts to his left index finger.

The child’s mother, 18-year-old Christy A. Smullen, was charged with reckless endangering and five other offenses while the boy was placed in his father’s custody, said Lt. Richard Jamison, a police spokesman.

She at least figured out she did something wrong? Well sorta…

"I got my charges, I’m probably going to be locked up, and that’s it," she said, declining to comment further as she stood on the wraparound porch where police say her son fired the shotgun a day before.

This is what I found “amusing” they noted the empty stroller in the front yard.. and apparently crucial is that it was blue? Oh and music was playing, which they specified it was by Eminem. These are apparently important to the case, right?

Officers were called after a firefighter reported the building was being fired on. They said the boy apparently took a .410-gauge shotgun and loaded it with several rounds of .38-caliber ammunition.

"This young child picked up the shotgun, shoved some bullets in it and was able to fire," said Ron Marvel, the fire company’s spokesman. "When he did, one of the bullets went through the door and one went through the window."

Marvel said one of the firefighters looked out the window and "saw the boy’s mother picking up the gun."

"It scared a lot of them until they figured it out," Marvel said.

When he pulled the trigger and the hammer went down, it hit one of the rounds and several went off, he said.

Investigators concluded the barrel of the gun exploded and split down the left side.

That exposed the inside of the barrel, which was filled with bullets, police said in court records.

When one bullet exploded, it fired into the bullet in front of it until the last one was ejected, police said.

"The only bullet whose primer pin had been struck was the bullet still lodged in the barrel of the shotgun near the break point," police said.

The fired casing was still inside the barrel where the hammer struck it, they said.

Larry Hudson, of Miller’s Gun Shop in New Castle, said he tried inserting a .38-caliber round into a .410-gauge shotgun and the bullet slid past the chamber.

"It goes right down the barrel," Hudson said of the experiment. "But I guess anything’s possible."

When detectives got a warrant to search Smullen’s house, they found the shotgun loaded with .38-caliber ammunition, a BB-gun and additional ammunition.

Oh ok.. he was just playing..

"He was just playing, and he put the wrong ammunition in the shotgun," Flood said.

Apparently the sweet little town has a group of women who gather comparing notes on their messed up lives…

Two women who were with the mother at the time of the shooting also were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Keisha A. Griffith, 39, of Seaford, was wanted for failing to appear for a child support hearing and failing to pay on a charge of falsely reporting an incident.

Stephanie Brittingham, 36, also of Seaford, was wanted for failing to pay a truancy fine.

I love this statement.. because the alternative was what, they would be giving him tips on where to aim? I wonder if one of the women had something against a fireman at the station? Now see if they were actually watching wouldn’t they make sure he had the right ammo?

"Apparently, they weren’t watching the child," Flood said.

Smullen, the boy’s mother, was released on $8,000 unsecured bail.

Yes, I see he was or is a Republican.. but honestly regardless of political party, this guy is a joke. This is where it is obvious the entire political system and politicians across the board, need a major overhaul. I think what a Republican & Democrat really are has been lost in translation, neither party exists.. we do still have the concept of conservative or liberal, but that is not always easy to verify. For those who shrug off the damage that is Obama-care, speak up.. we would be more then happy to clarify your confusion. If that is not enough look at the track record of the bankrupt/failing states of California & Massachusetts. Look at the conditions of countries that have socialized/nationalized medicine…

If that is not enough, look at the common sense facts.. if there is no benefit to being a doctor, how many would we have? how many scientists would there be? how many advances in medicine would there be? How long do you think your wait would be? How good do you think your care would be? The reality, you would be a number, you would receive minimum care, the medical system would be nothing more then triage, it would be patch work. There would be less people working in medicine caring for more people seeking care. Have you ever seen clinic situation, we all would be reduced to clinic care. It does not matter if there is preventative care, since by the time you can get an appointment to be seen, what you hoped to avoid, would be in dire need of immediate care.

Though this fight may be found to be nothing more then “symbolic”, it is worth the effort, and gives us one step towards a resolution. 

Voters will get a chance in November to decide whether state authorities should be allowed to require Coloradans to buy health insurance.

Secretary of State Bernie Buescher announced today that an initiative backed by free market thinktank the Independence Institute turned in enough signatures to make the November ballot.

The Constitutional amendment is an attempt to blunt federal health care reforms requiring Americans to purchase health insurance, though a November victory may be largely symbolic since federal law supersedes state law. Amendment 63 would also safeguard a patient’s right to pay for health services in cash.

Institute leader Jon Caldara said passing the amendment would mean the state would play no part in enforcing the federal rules.

“People think it’s symbolic? Then by all means vote for it. You’ve got nothing to lose,” Caldara said. “It’s not symbolic. This is not just about Obamacare, this is about protecting our health care choice for decades to come.”

The Secretary of State’s office received 135,029 signatures supporting the amendment on July 30 and tested a random, 5 percent sample to verify at least the required 76,047 signatures were valid.

The results of the Secretary of State’s random sampling:

* 5% of qualified signatures submitted (random sample): 6,752
* Total number of entries accepted (valid) from random sample: 4,980
* Total number of entries rejected (invalid) from random sample: 1,772
* Number of projected valid signatures from random sample: 99,592

“Do you know how long it took me to forge 135,000 names for this frickin’ petition?” Caldara joked. “The carpal tunnel pain is immense. I do have health insurance.”
