I have been thinking about Biden’s call to a new “patriotism”.  As a refresher - Biden recently was quoted as saying about the “rich” people who would pay more taxes:

“It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

And, in this era of bailouts and failures, I have come up with “alternative” means of showing one’s patriotism.

(Please do not misinterpret these as being replacements for service, honor, dedication, etc.)

1)  Do not take out a loan for more than you can pay back.  Even if the bank is willing to give you a mortgage for a McMansion, only borrow the amount that you can comfortably repay. 

2)  Do not run up your credit cards and expect to be bailed out.

3)  If you live in a risky area, get Hazard Insurance.  If you can’t afford the insurance, maybe you can’t afford to live in that area.

4)  Get off you butt.  Do not expect the government to pay for your children.  Do not become the third generation in your family who knows more about WIC than reading.  Do not go on permanent disability unless you have thoroughly researched all other career paths (ie, if you are a nurse with a bad back and can no longer lift heavy weight, there are other jobs desperate for you skills - law, insurance, etc.).

5)  Do not give CEO’s “golden parachutes”.  Their bonuses should be tied to the company’s successes.

6)  Do not continue to allow political cronies and/or boyfriends have cushy jobs at Fannie and Freddie.

7)  Do not continue to elect politicians who do not serve the best interest of their country.  Too many politicians these days are only looking after their own best interests (and job security) while they let the country go to hell in a handbasket.

8)  Individuals should be responsible for their own actions.  Stop putting the blame on everyone else.  Life isn’t fair.  Get over it.  Someone is always going to be richer, thinner, prettier, unfairly promoted, from a nicer family, etc.  That doesn’t give you the right to curl up in the fetal position and cry about the unfairness of it all for the rest of your life.  And it doesn’t give you the right to commit a crime….  Make something of yourself.  Show the world that you can overcome it all.  Others have done it and are doing it now….

9)  Make an informed vote.  Vote for someone who is stands for the same things that you do.  Failing that, vote for the person who stands with you the most.  Do not vote based on race, sex, religion….  Do not vote for the tallest, the best looking, the youngest, the oldest.  Do not be swayed by speeches.  Pay attention to their voting record.  If you haven’t done your homework - don’t vote.

On the above date and time officers from the Falcon division were dispatched to a home in the 4700 block of Russett Oak Ct. in regard to a missing child. The biological father (Donald Curtin, age 29) of the child reported his eighteen month old daughter was no longer in the home and had last been seen in her bed around 1:00 a.m. Mr. Curtin suspect the biological mother (Jennifer Young, age 27) of the child had entered his home without permission and removed their daughter.During the course of the investigation detectives learned Ms. Young had arranged to leave Colorado Springs via Greyhound bus. Surveillance was set up at the bus station and Ms. Young was contacted at that location with the child. Ms. Young was taken into custody in regard to a Second Degree Burglary charge as well as other charges related to the incident. The child was returned, unharmed, to Mr. Curtin. The Department of Human Services was made aware of the incident and did respond as well.

So, the mom breaks in, steals the child that the father has legal custody of, prepares to leave the area, and is charged with… Burglary.  Not kidnapping.  And the burglary charge is probably in relation to taking a pack of diapers, maybe the kids blankie.  And of course now DHS is involved, which is typically never good news.  I’m hoping that the “other charges” are soon to include the kidnapping charge, interference with the court orders, etc.

This is the type of double standard Glenn Sacks is all over.

I’ve heard that natural blondes are being bred out of the human race.  Based on this article and video, it seems that it is a process of natural selection.

OK, I’ll admit it.  I’ve always been a sucker for a good ghost story.  And yes, the only show I actually watch “live” is Ghost Hunters.  (OK, I tape Doctor Who, also).

So, on the light side I decided to write about this “ghost in the gym”.

Now, if I were a ghost, the last place I’d haunt would be the gym (unless I wanted to torture some “fitness instructor”, trip some skeletal female on a treadmill, or suddenly make the muscle bound lifter’s weights much heavier).  My ghost would most likely be found at a nearby ice cream stand or at least a place with happier memories.

Not that I think that the “image” is a ghost.  It looks like dust in front of the camera.

But hey, at least Obama [spit] wouldn’t be mad about this post.  And he wouldn’t be able to send his Missouri “Truth Squad” out to get me.

Now, the media was all over Quayle misspelled “tomato”, but they completely overlooking this gem. 

To take out the history book - 1) Hoover was President in1929, when the stock market crashed and 2) there were no TV’s then - FDR did use the radio when he became President, however.

Biden even called Obama’s own ads “terrible”.  (please click the video on that link, too funny).  Couric (no heavy hitter herself) was interviewing Biden, and asked what he felt about Obama’s ads about McCain’s inability to type, and Biden repeatedly stated that they were terrible.  Well, I guess even Biden can be right some of the time.

And let’s not forget how to best exhibit your patriotism in Obama’s regime.  As Biden says the “wealthy would pay higher taxes if Obama [spit] was elected president and that doing so would be “patriotic.”

Excuse me for suddenly not feeling patriotic.

I was surprised when I heard he had a son… I would have made a bet he was gay.. so this news that he “came-out”.. sorry, I am not even remotely surprised.. I am just amazed if anyone was!

He says he could not raise a child and lie.. now this child was created via invitro.. so it was not just merely something that happened.. he went about having a child created.. and if the rest of the world figured he was gay.. how as he not aware? He was aware… this article even states he told his family 4 years ago.. the baby was just born this year.. so again he KNEW he was Gay.. and still had a child with a woman.. interesting.

I honestly do not care if some one is gay.. but the whole gay parade that has been going on.. and the “acceptance” has been such overkill.. I have complete indifference. Yes.. I am posting on this.. but only because I was shocked before that he had a “relationship” with a woman and then a child with her too… I have a million other issues with this story and situation.. but I will leave it simply… are you remotely surprised he is gay?

When computers go bad…

A patient treated for agonizing abdominal pain received this surprising news in the hospital’s paperwork: “Based on your visit today, we know you are pregnant.” Surprising indeed for 71-year-old John Grady Pippen.

The staff at Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach gave the retired mechanic and logger the ridiculously happy news this month, along with some pain pills.

That just about sums it up.  Holy crap..  The DNC spin has already started, with them saying the debate was on McCain’s terms and is his home turf.

Take a Citizenship Test….

I often wondered/wished.. wanted.. Every person in the USA prior to being allowed to vote,.. to be required to take a citizenship test. I think half the morons out there have no clue what this nation stands for, what our Constitution states (see also Constitutional amendments)… (Obama [spit] comes to mind, the moron does not know how many states there are, and he is promoting socialist concept!).

I think if people were required to know important facts about our country  their political choices would be vastly improved.. and regardless how shameful our education system is.. more people would (need) to learn about our country.. vs sliding by because the standards in schools are set so horribly low you can roll over them!

So I posts this:

A troop leader was arrested after stealing $3K from her troop.

The girls had sold almost 1,500 boxes of cookies.  Their leader received the check of over $3,000 from the Girl Scout council, and instead of depositing the money in the troop account, she deposited the money in her personal account.

The parents discovered that the funds were missing, when the attempted to pay for a group trip to Hershey Park.  There was less than $20 in the account.  An uncle of one of the girls (and his church) stepped up and paid for the trip.

The parents went to the Girl Scout council with their discovery.  They were informed that Girl Scouts would do nothing to help them get their money back.  But, they suggested that the parents could take it to the police.  Which the parents did.

So, now the leader was arrested.  She is out on bail (ironically enough, bail was the same amount of money that she stole from the troop).

The troop was disbanded.  The parents yanked their girls from Girl Scouts.  Which is understandable.  The leader was operating under the umbrella of the Girl Scouts, and had the parents’ trust.  She egregiously breached that trust.  And Council did nothing to help the parents.

The most disgusting bit of the whole tale, is this.  Donations are coming into Girl Scouts, by people who want this troop to get their money back.  But, since the troop disbanded, Council is pocketing all of the donated funds, and putting it in their “scholarship funds”.  The scholarship fund pays for the application fee of low income girls ($10 application fee, annually).  Council has “kindly” informed the parents of this troop, that if they wish to rejoin Girl Scouts, council will waive the $10 fee…

The Anti - Palin Hysteria continues.

Yesterday, Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) said the following:

“Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”

I guess that Palin hunts for moose in Klan robes.  Maybe that is the camouflage that they use in snow covered Alaska.  It must be that, because I was never aware that hunting applications also required verification of your hatred of other races and religions.

Somehow doesn’t all communist news seem like they’re doing this?  First the Ukraine is a natural “famine”, the New York Times reports lies on Republican candidates, and now this.  Where will it end?

PETA has asked Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream makers to use human breast milk, not cow milk in their ice cream.

Thank goodness, Ben & Jerry’s said thanks but no thanks to that idea.  I can’t believe that someone just managed to turn my stomach, when talking about ice cream.  (OK, Iron Chef did manage it with their weird ice cream flavors)

PETA is outraged by the cruel treatment that cows receive at dairy farms.  Of course, they seem to be permanently outraged by everything.

What PETA needs to realize is that no cows are killed in the production of milk.  It is not like the dairy farmer has to “off” the cow in order to get the milk out….

In fact, cows are treated quite well.  They eat all day in the field.  They provide fertilizer for the field for next year’s crop.  They get milked twice daily (every 12 hours).  If they are not milked, they experience a great deal of pain. So, the farmer and the cow have a mutually beneficial relationship.

Thank you Ben & Jerry’s for not permanently ruining ice cream for me…
