Gonzales is NOW a fool

Attorney General Gonzales speaks about VT…

OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Wednesday that having more guns on college campuses is not the way to prevent campus violence like the massacre at Virginia Tech.Since the April 16 shootings that left 33 people dead, including the gunman, at Virginia Tech, some have suggested that the carnage might have been lower if a student or professor with a gun had stepped in.

I don’t think that is the answer quite frankly,” said Gonzales, who was participating in a governor’s task force to study safety and security on Oklahoma college campuses.

Instead, authorities should enforce existing laws concerning the ownership and use of handguns, he said.

We can’t guarantee complete security,” Gonzales said. We need to see what we can do as a government — on the federal level, on the state level — to ensure the safety of our students.”

OK, so out of one side of his mouth:  We can’t guarantee complete security.

On the other side:  More gummint will save you!

How mind numbingly stupid do you have to be.  If someone with a concealed carry weapon had been in that building, there would have been less carnage.  People with concealed carry permits are trained in how to use the weapon.  When to use the weapon.  Scenarios.  etc.  Anyone who qualified for a permit, had they had any time to react, would have at the very least drawn fire, giving others time to get away or tackle the shooter.

While the short bus riding media goes over and over again about “Dodge City” and such, the actual people with concealed permits are amazingly normal good people who don’t freak out and shoot wildly at each person who cuts them off in traffic.

So, the government says it cannot protect you.  But then it says you can’t protect yourself either.

Fred Thompson Facts

in the early evening on Wednesday, the 2nd of May 2007 by Chad

IMAO loves Fred Thompson too

The original ending to In the Line of Fire had Fred Thompson stand between the assassin and the president and deflect the bullet off his chest. This was deemed to unrealistic, though, since no one would ever have the courage to pull the trigger on Fred Thompson.

Damn straight.  Go read the rest of the facts on Fred.   If not, Fred will get mad.

Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.
