Life in this universe would be so much more interesting were the supernatural, well, natural.
I’m not talking monsters everywhere, just enough so that there would be one or two zombie hunters listed in the yellow pages for a normal size city. That the police report in the paper would occasionally list bagging a vampire or werewolf that terrorized the waterfront. The person called a witch in high school, well, really is one.
Every company had on its payroll licensed fortune-tellers. I’m sorry, I meant licensed Future Possibility Analysts. Their position would be to present reports to the board based on stock prices, and will the software actually ship on time.
Ghosts would be something you could go see somewhere besides the cheesy double-wide trailer at the county fair.
Miskatonic University would revive its Medieval Metaphysics program for serious researchers. Couldn’t wait to see who won the Nobel Prize this year for the cancer curative properties of ectoplasm. The argument wouldn’t be about whether or not Bigfoot exists. It would be about the mating habits of the Yeti that are bred in captivity.
I’m not talking about having giant wars between the vampires and the wizards. Nothing that extreme. Just enough to add a little spice to the action. Remember, it would be completely normal.
