They have frikkin’ bodyguards everywhere. I’m suprised they don’t have to drive around in a popemobile.
BTW, do you guys still do costuming? I want one of those full viking outfits like the capital one commercials. But real deal stuff, not the crap they sell in shops.

Ummm…we get upset when the fever-swamp left says such things. Perhaps you should re-think such quotes?

True, but I think he was talking about their entertainment value, not politically! hehheh

“some people are alive only because it is illegal to kill them”

Sure do Chad. No worries I’ll talk to the Lady alittle later on it.
Ranten,I had thought about it. That’s Why I posted it. I’m not a big fan of the Glitterati,as they are called, and certainly not a fan of useless works and wastes of film and flesh as they. Too many humans on this planet as is. And I’m not left. I’m about as anti-political as you can get. And I certainly meant for entertainment value. There’s Something about Mary was a lowpoint in film history. There’s always been toilet humor out there,Porky’s,ect. But toilet humor for adults? please.
Mel,oh yeah…that’s it. But then again,it’s only illegal if you get caught. A .50 cal Browning from three miles away would do just as nicely. Or maybe a ponybomb on beverly hills…we just need to make sure Charo is out of town that weekend….

While “Something About Mary” was pretty damn bad… I actually believe that the decline of the American Entertainment industry started it’s downward slide just prior to the change of the century back in 1999. Yes… “Mary” did come out first in 1998… and it was pitiful. However… 1999 has to be the year of the apocalypse.
It was during this year when (like the rising of the horsemen of the apocalypse) came 4 films that made me question my love of film.
Brace yourself…
Wild Wild West (Warner) - This abomination was simply the result of a series of bad decisions. I could get past the whole Will Smith as Jim West thing… and Salma provided some much need distractions at times. However, they should have tried to stick to the feel of the original show more. Forcing Kevin Kline to play “cute and clever” over and over got old real quick… and don’t start me on the big metal tarantula. I was so upset by this film’s complete ruin of the original concept that I could feel “WAR” himself rising up in my gut. I wanted to lash out at anyone who actually praised this film.
Wing Commander (20th Century Fox) - Freddie Prinze Jr. doing bad science-fiction. Surprised? I’m not. However, I have to say that the true fault in this film was the “FAMINE”-like lack of plot.
Bicentennial Man (Touchstone) - This film felt like the coming of “PESTILENCE” for all of the forced sentimentality that seems to drip out of it. With a huge budget and big name stars, you would think that something good would have come out of this film. Sadly, no.
She’s All That (Miramax) - The “DEATH” award for 1999 had to go to this atrocity. It was the worst film to come out that year… and a mistake on so many levels. The worst mistake in this film was it’s male lead. Freddie Prinze Jr. is just NOT a good performer. (Dude… just go get a day job.) I try to give damn near every movie that comes out an honest and fair shake. It is for that reason alone that I endured this film. It almost beat me when my dry heaves started when the cast burst into an unexplained choreographed dance sequence at the prom… but I made it through.
There you have it… the 4 Horsemen of 1999.
