Good luck to this guy

in the early morning on Wednesday, the 5th of October 2005 by Chad

Found a site called The Robot’s Soapbox complaining about his first job out of college and his career advice.

Don’t work in cubicles, ever. Working in cubicles is the sure sign that you’re not working for a successful company. Imagine the smartest person you know, working in your field. Now imagine how they would react if they were told they’re going to work in a box with no door or roof, allowing them no privacy.

Sheesh dude… step 1. Quit whining like a bitch. Guess what? 99% of the jobs in the world are exactly what you’re complaining about. It doesn’t get much better. And those slots available that are better? Well, you’re not good enough to get them.
Step 2. Learn to drink socially and play golf. Work doesn’t matter.
Step 3. Get ready, because in a few years, you’ll be a manager crushing some just outta school idiot’s dream.

I especially enjoyed his stating… “Only one thing kept me going — pure ego.” Sounds to me like that’s about all he does have.

Plus, I got a giggle from his… “You’re not growing fast enough! You’re barely in the middle of the pack.” was the kind of feedback I was getting from my supervisor.

It’s a pity he couldn’t read between the lines. I’m betting what his supervisor really meant was “You’re not growing UP fast enough!”

I support this guy 100%. You go, whoeveryouareoutofcollege kid.

Less competition in IT is always good. I figure there’s one more guy I got beat.
