Celebrate America!

I grew up an east-coaster. Now I live in heaven, more often called Colorado..

What i have come to be more aware of is the limited awareness residents of the coast have. It is fascinating how growing up in a certain area you can become so incredibly unaware that other places exist. We grow up believing where we are is all there is, i imagine this is not just isolated to the east coast.. but this is simply what i know.

Growing up on or near the coast you think you need to be on or near the coast. Most people move up and down the coast or flip to the other coast, rarely do coastal folk go to the center of the US.

My brothers went for Florida & California, and i know many other coast people who chose the same or New England (like Conneticut). I am the rare species in my family..

I chose the mountains! I chose the fresh air, no humidity, and just complete beauty!! We arrived just before Christmas, and I am blown away every day by everything here!

Traffic: wow every day i am impressed by how polite the drivers are here, and i think that makes a huge impact on why there is no issue of traffic at least not the traffic we knew back east.. (wheels stopped, cars parked, you needed good reading material since you literally sat and stared at the tail pipe of the vehicle in front of you! here the cars continue to move, even in the "worst" traffic we have seen.. sure nothing is forever and sure traffic could get worse.. but comparing what we left now, and what the traffic year round was back east.. whew, no comparison!

Weather: most of the winter we have not needed coats, at most maybe a jacket.. but temps around 40s to 70s for the winter.. wow. Summers are so nice too.. with no humidity there is no sweltering heat that makes you just want to rip your skin off!

Things to do: so much to do and enjoy here, nature, hikes, zoos, museums, history, and just endless list!! We did not have that back east, certainly not nature (nothing that was worth seeing that the weather, allergies, pollution etc did not just knock that out of the options). Many would say DC & Philly were near by, but not really.. not with the traffic, forget parking, not to mention how many times would you desire to see the same things you saw on your high school field trips over and over.. it kind of limits the things you want or can do!

So what is this babble about? Start having vacations outside of your state/region.. There is so much in America to see.. check out the history, nature, beauty, and everything that is in this HUGE country to enjoy! You may find your new home!! That is one of the many fabulous things about the USA.. there is a place for everything, the icy beauty of Alaskas, islands of Hawaii, the calm coast of the Atlantic, the more active coast of the Pacific, the mountains, deserts, plains and more that make of the vast space between the coasts!! There is a place for everyone, which makes this place so much more awesome.. i identified what i did not like and what i love, and i found the place i love! Maybe you are already in a place you love.. awesome.. but do visit all the places USA has to offer you.. they may just be nice or cool places to visit, they may be inspiring, or hey you may not enjoy them at all.. but even the things we do not like gives us more appreciation for the things we do like!

Thank you for listening to my banter!

I set someone's password to be nyarlathotep just for fun the other day. Would have been funnier had they known what it meant.
