Donuts & Napkins

in the late evening on Thursday, the 24th of February 2005 by Chad

Story time!!!

Once again, we’re hanging out in the donut shop, back stretch of Main Street, Newark, Delaware.  Either a Friday or Saturday night, probably around 1am.  I was there, and I know Lori was also, not sure who else.  It was around midnight.

People come and go all night long.  Us regulars are sitting there drinking our coffee, watching humanity pass us by.

A car pulls up right in front of the door, instead of parking.  The rear right door opens, and a girl, about 19 or 20, gets out and runs into the shop.  With a muffled voice she asked for a bunch of napkins.  Her mouth was full of something and it was difficult to understand what she was asking for.

She asked again, was given some napkins.  She proceeded to spit into the napkins, threw them away, and ran back to the car.

The very happy guy on the other side of the back seat was laughing the entire time.
