“Hate” Crimes…. The REAL Horror!
in the late evening on Wednesday, the 28th of October 2009 by Gypsy
This is a concept that makes me insane!
No matter what anyone wants you to believe.., there is no such thing as a "love” crime. All crime is based from rage, anger, or hate.
The judicial system is barely able to prosecute criminals as it is.. so instead of adding a new label.. how about giving murderers, rapists & child molesters the death penalty.. and violent offenders 20 to life? and then they can trickle it down from there.
The problem is not the lack of labels.. but the lack of standards and appropriate punishment for crimes. This is one thing I do not think should differ state to state. There should be a national standard, not on healthcare, but on punishment. There should be no grey areas or loops holes, no “good behavior” crap. A criminal who commits a crime. should do the time (or death).
Too many criminals are clued in enough to know they can get away with murder, or theft, or battery. Too many know how often someone is caught for a particular crime, so the odds are on their side. Too many criminals know if they are actually caught the odds of them actually receiving punishment appropriate for their crime is based on the judge, jury and their attorney. They know they still can get little or nothing for what they did. If they are found guilty the know they have more chances due to appeals.
I know innocent people can be found guilty, but they are the exception not the rule. Think of how many innocent people lose their lives due to criminals.. criminals who are never convicted or convicted properly.
Fair is not reality.. but the reality could have a better playing field, by having our judicial system consistent instead of having the extremes of liberal (lack of) justice to back woods (hang ‘em high) justice.. and anything in between.
(PS.. yes given an option I would side with the back woods “hang ‘em high”.. the wild west way .. was the best way!)
Now knowing what the “hate crimes” are based on.. attacks on blacks or homosexuals… what would they do if a black attacked a homosexual or visa versa? Or how about either of these protected groups targeting a white person.. guess we will need to rise up and fight for OUR rights? What would happen if they attacked Americans who support & believe in the US Constitution? You know those people (our government) refers to as nuts and extremists.. because we did not vote for Obama, and we have a clue, plus like our guns.

It is absurd to attempt to discern someone’s motives! I detest the “hate crime” concept. There was a discussion between 630 WMAL’s Chris Plante (worth your time 9-12 Eastern time on Internet radio) between him and a caller. The caller said that it depends on the motive before it’s called a hate crime, and that it is not important if, in the heat of anger, they were shouting out epithets.
I agree with Chris, that the application of hate crime laws is difficult and inconsistent. Also, it is almost always dropped when white people are the victims. Hey, it’s the truth.

I also dislike “hate crime” statutes.
Aren’t we saying that some victims are more equal than others?
I tend to look at the end result. Crazy person killed someone – murder. The end result of the crime was death, therefore the crime is murder – not “by reason of insanity”.
I’ll go back to a story that you wrote about earlier this year. A man that had killed a transvestite and was convicted of a hate crime. I think that he murdered someone, but why elevate it with the “hate crime”. In that case, the man had dated and kissed someone who presented himself to be female. Therefore, the transvestite was committing fraud. The murderer, was justly angered when he discovered the fraud, and killed the transvestite. The killing was wrong, period. But to convict him of a “hate crime” was utterly inappropriate….

I could not agree more with you guys!
Murder .. is … Murder. Murders SHOULD receive the death penalty.
NO BS excuse of hate or insanity or blue sky.. or whatever they pull out of their a$$ that day.
NO one is ever sane when killing another. Be it temporary, act of passion, or permanent.. it is insanity. If a person loses control once, what are the odds, and who knows when, they will lose it again. That person is not stable, and is a danger to society.
The great gripe anymore is focused on race or sexual orientation.. but by making it the major feature, something held above everything else.. they make it a target.. because there will be people out there more sickened by this than we are, and the worst of the sickest individuals are apt to lose that last noodle.
we are all subject to insanity.. it is how we handle it, it is how we channel it. if a person can not handle their insane momemnt and lets it control them to the point they “have” to kill.. there is a problem beyond any control.. they are then simple a danager to socieity.
This seems to cut and dry and logical how on earth has the legal system in our country side-stepped this.. well side stepped and leaped over all forms of common sense.. and they have.. with all that skill i guess they should get an honorarly olympics medal (snicker).
