I would Hate To Be An American Ally Right Now
around lunchtime on Friday, the 18th of September 2009 by Capt Jake Fortune
Sold out for nothing. Not a damn thing. I am so sorry to our (the American people, not the American leadership) friends the Czechs and Poles.
Update:
I was going to make this a comment, but it’s too good:
“A ground-based interceptor is generally about a $70 million-per-missile asset going after a $10-$15 million [Iranian] missile,” a senior administration official told arms-control analysts Thursday at a briefing explaining the rationale, according to a recording heard by The Wall Street Journal. “The trade is not a good one economically. It’s not a good one from a military strategy position.”
Wow… Next, our A-10 Warthog fighters, which has a cost of $10 million dollars each, goes up against a $12 mud hut holding insurgents, is no longer a good value economically. So for close air support, we’re giving our ground fighters helium party balloons and M-80 firecrackers. We trust that the wind will support our mission.

It is kinda hard to remain friends with such a bipolar problem.
I heard someone actually say that Obama decided this, based on the idea that Iran doesn’t have weapons that could reach there (yet should have been added).
I’m not suggesting that my geographical knowledge is stronger than the Pres, but I’m pretty sure that there are other threats in the area….
Putin is saying that Obama is “brave”. As he laughs into his vodka….

Well…NATO and stuff…NATO was the counter-point to the Warsaw Pact with the USSR. Countries that were former members joined NATO. Obummer is a Socialist, so it fits that he would flip off former USSR satellites.

I submit that September 17th, one of Poland’s many Russia-related dates that will forever live in infamy, should be declared National Day of Mourning for Friends Betrayed.
We should all fly the flags of Poland and the Czech Republic and put bumper stickers on our cars that say, in Czech and Polish, “Where’s the birth certificate?”
Oh, might as well do the same thing in Hebrew and Honduran Spanish, not to mention all the multitudinous languages of sub-Saharan Africa.
Or, simply, a red and white bumper sticker (Poland’s colors) that says “We, the People remember our friends!”
I’m still reeling from this latest (c)rap hit by BO and the Obamites. Funny thing that, just now, I should be in the middle of reading A Question of Honor, a book about Poland’s Kosciuszko Squadron and other tremendous contributions to winning World War Two. Seems like Poland was just about the only nation on Earth that kept the faith and did NOT betray anyone.

@ Michael J Kubat: “We the people remember our friends”. Also, when B. Hussein Obama sent the bust of Winston Churchill back to Great Britain…in both cases, we the people were outraged, but the bozos that we the people elected to represent us are sending those messages. Who is a country to believe, our representatives that allegedly speak for us, or the people on the street, who are stupid enough to (a) elect them, and (b) continue to elect them?
The best way that I can see for us to send a message to our friends is to vote those idiots out of office, put good people into office, then repair the damage they have done very quickly.

Stormbringer, I’m with yer. Let’s bring on the storm – at the polling place (a.k.a. “the inconvenient booth”)!
