Did Obama and the "Car Czar" Punish GOP Supporting Dealerships?

There has been increasing chatter on the internet regarding the possibility that Obama and his cronies “convinced” Chrysler to close GOP supporting dealerships.
Is Obama closing GOP-leaning car dealers?
Bloggers on the Right side of the Blogosphere are up in arms over data suggesting that President Obama’s White House auto industry potentates are targeting for closure Chrysler dealers with records of contributing either to Republicans like John McCain or to other Democrats in the 2008 presidential primary.
Posts at RedState, Reliapundit, American Thinker, Gateway Pundit, Joey Smith and Doug Ross pointed intitially at the remarkable number of closed Chrysler dealerships whose owners happen to have been contributors to Obama opponents, mainly Republicans.But those observations were all couched with important qualifiers, particularly that all conclusions were necessarily preliminary, pending completion of a comprehensive analysis of the political contributions by all closed Chrysler dealership owners, and a comparison of those results with contributions by dealers who are not being closed.
That said, when multiple dealers who have been closed are found to have contributed millions to Republicans and mere hundreds to Obama, the serious number-crunching cannot be completed too soon.
This is a troubling rumor. Gee, if only the MSM had someone with integrity, maybe someone could more thoroughly investigate the story.
Add to the above story, the idea that the
Plan to ax dealers not Chrysler’s decision -lawyer.
A lawyer for Chrysler dealers facing closure as part of the automaker's bankruptcy reorganization said on Tuesday he believes Chrysler executives do not support a plan to eliminate a quarter of its retail outlets.Lawyer Leonard Bellavia, of Bellavia Gentile & Associates, who represents some of the terminated dealers, said he deposed Chrysler President Jim Press on Tuesday and came away with the impression that Press did not support the plan."It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers," Bellavia said. "It really wasn't Chrysler's decision. They are under enormous pressure from the President's automotive task force."He added the government task force, which he criticized for having no members with retail experience was, in effect, attacking U.S. entrepreneurs."What is the next task force? Shoe stores? Pizzerias?" Bellavia said at an event in Manhattan to publicize the dealers' concerns ahead of a bankruptcy court hearing.
So, if Chrysler didn’t want to close dealerships, but were forced to do so by the administration, who decided which dealerships would close, and what was their criteria?
Doug Ross has started investigating the closing records.
To quickly review the situation, I took all dealer owners whose names appeared more than once in the list. And, of those who contributed to political campaigns, every single one had donated almost exclusively to GOP candidates. While this isn’t an exhaustive review, it does have some ominous implications if it can be verified.
…I have thus far found only a single Obama donor (and a minor one at that: $200 from Jeffrey Hunter of Waco, Texas) on the closing list.
He goes on to list several closed dealerships, their campaign contributions, and their candidate of choice.
I am not saying that this is positively true. I am saying that it doesn’t pass the smell test, and should be further investigated.

too funny you posted on this.. i was reading the same thing.. and was searching for more info.. then popped back over here and saw you had posted it..
so the plot thickens..
what other horrible things can and will obama do.. he has not even been in office a 1/2 year and look at everything he has done..
when and how can we get him out of there.. yes i don’t want biden or pelosi.. but i am beginning to think biden could not do a fraction of the same damage that obama has done already!
obama is more sleazy than i expected.. i hope the car dealers don’t just roll over and let him beat them like this.. i hope they rise up and fight back.. and the rest of the Americans in this country need to do the same.. what do we do.. how.. this needs to stop, he needs to be stopped!

Obama thinks he’s Tony Soprano now- strong-arming legitimate, legal rights and claims from hedge funds… mafia-style, including union death-threats… so he could hand 55% of Chrysler over to the UAW, who donated $5M to his campaign.
If that’s not stealing, I don’t know what is… it doesn’t matter how much you dislike hedge funds.
Now he’s destroying the evil capitalists that didn’t support his fraudulent, disingenuous campaign?
The White House says there’s “no evidence”- note that Hitler was careful to only give verbal orders, too… and Obama’s not new to this sort of thing.
Obama’s completely out-of-control. But what did anyone expect with a neutered press, compliant congress, and cabinet full of sycophants?

Hard for me to quote this, much as I believe it, when you invoke (spit) after every mention of Obama. You lose credibility to any outsiders and blind the facts with your obvious sentiments. If you want to be treated as an objective source, you have to at least PRETEND to be objective. Never mind the true sentiments; after all, that’s how the mainstream media does it.

Blago, the owner of this site has, what has been called an Obama (spit) filter. I actually do not type spit after the name Obama (who has the time). The (spit) is automatically generated every time the site recognizes the word Obama.
And, I am not a journalist. I am merely a person with opinions. And yes, they are biased opinions. I believe that Obama is a danger to everything that I believe in. I believe that he will ruin this country. I believe that my children will not enjoy the freedom and liberty that I have enjoyed. I do not like the way the country is going.
I am a “Traditionalist”, a “Constitutionalist”, a TEA party member. I am not a Republican. I am a Conservative.
I do, however, try to find the facts, and do not try to spread fiction. If I am unsure about the facts, I state that fact.
I do wish that someone, with many ears, would start investigating some of these rumors. Nothing seems to have been thoroughly researched, as it regards to Obama. Not his ACORN ties. Not his birth certificate. Not his friendships with Wright or Ayers. Not his questionable and largely unnamed campaign contributers. Not his actual views. Not the dealership questions. Not the huge deficit that he is running up…

“blago”.. the traditional news sorces all salivate over obama.. for absolutely no reason what-so-over.. blog sites such as this include people who oppose the general media.. we will cite things we find of value.. and discuss our opinions about them.
yes the “spit” is generated to show up when the idiot in office’s name is mentioned.. we could have put something else.. but this was a combo thing.. one a joke that goes with the show “corner gas” where they spit whenever a rival town’s name is mentioned.. and two because that is how we feel about this moron.. if we have to speak its name we need to spit out the filth of saying its name.
