What’s Left?

terribly early in the morning on Thursday, the 21st of May 2009 by Capt Jake Fortune

TV shows from way back that haven’t been remade yet by a Hollywood utterly bereft of new ideas.

Terminator 4, Transformers 2, and even Land of the Lost made into a comedy.

Rumor has it (as in I just made it up) they’re working on the "Sanford and Son" movie.  Fred Sanford, a hard drinking, hard partying ex-con with an ax to grind against the society that treated him wrong, and his son, a technical genius still hurting from the death of his mother so many years before that its actually pointless.

Together they work the scrapyard while planning the one last heist to take them from Queens to Tahiti for the life they feel they deserve.

Of course, now I find out that they had already started on this project before Bernie Mac died.  So now nothing is left… Oh crap I just realized, no one mention Kelly’s Heroes to anyone even related to Hollywood!

Didn’t they already do a Kelly’s Heroes updated version with Clooney and Wahlberg? They called it Three Kings and set it in Iraq after the first gulf war. I’m sure there are much better old TV shows to base movies off of than the ones the braindead hollywood writers have chosen (ie. Brady Bunch). How about a couple westerns like Wanted:dead or alive and Have Gun Will Travel. Or how about the Magnum P.I. movie fans of that show have been waiting to see for years. How about a real movie based on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. instead of a tv version. More likely we’ll get a movie version of Lacelot Link Secret Chimp! (loved that show, but just can’t imagine a full length feature of it)

    Bionic Woman Does Dallas?

If they do a Magnum PI movie with Tom Selleck, that would be great. If they “re-imagine” it, I think the universe would just give up and explode. Or “BJ And The Bear” but they would have to use a Prius instead of a tractor trailer.

And didn’t they already do a remake of Bionic Woman that lasted a single season?

After two hours, I looked at my watch. I found that 17 minutes had gone by.
