I can hear the conversation now:
Obama: “America is so sorry for whatever your grievance might be, Brother Chavez.”
Chavez: “The United States empire is on its way down and it will be finished in the near future, inshallah.” Thank goodness you were elected, comrade, to speed the process up.
Obama: “Yes, I’ve been working hard at that. Just today The Environmental Protection Agency concluded Friday that greenhouse gases linked to climate change “endanger public health and welfare,” setting the stage for regulating them under federal clean air laws. Soon, I will have successfully killed any hope of economic recovery.”
Chavez and Obama (together): “High Five. (Wondertwin powers, activate)”
Obama: “Now, I need to go apologize to Brother Castro of Cuba. I want to establish “a new beginning” with Cuba that would recognize past US “errors.”

At President Obama’s meeting with the heads of South American countries this morning, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez stood, walked over to him, and presented him with a copy of “Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent” by Uruguayan author Eduardo Galeano.
Mr. Obama politely posed for a photograph with Mr. Chavez, shook his hand, and accepted the gift.
The book, first published in Spanish in 1971, offers a critique of the consequences of 500 years of European and U.S. colonization of Latin America.
Why do I feel that this gift should be lumped with IPods to the Queen and DVD’s to Prime Ministers? Gifts that the receiver already has and /or has already seen it so many times that they can recite it by heart.

This is getting old. Obama was elected as Commander in Chief of the US not Apoligist in Chief. I am sick and tired of this man going overseas and apologizing for the US and saying we are the cause of everyone else’s problems. He was elected to represent the people of the USA. When will he start representing us and not the rest of the world? He blames the US for Mexicos problems. He cozies up to the Castros. He shakes the had of the guy that wants the US destroyed and just weeks ago called Obama an idiot! He says he looks forward to this latest meeting because he “has a lot to learn and can’t wait to listen” to the other western hemishpere leaders, guys like chavez and ortega. These are who his going to learn from? Figure it out Obama. You should know all you need to know before you get there. That is what your advisors and other elected officials are for. Maybe if he vetted his people better he would have his own people to listen and learn from. Or maybe this is the advise of the guy supposed to lend foreign policy experience to your administration, Joe Biden. Obama, YOU are supposed to LEAD not FOLLOW! My counry has somehow elected a man who wants to destry the bastian of capitalism from within, and follow third world counries to our doom. The next election can’t come soon enough.

Latin America sees us now as weak, so this photo is going to have a lot of mileage. Chavez doesn’t want friendship. He wants an end to the evil empire of the USA. But I guess he know has “hope” that this will happen since he calls Obama a monkey or to quote his words, “aunque la mona se vista de seda, mona se queda.” Obama better learn Spanish so that he can understand what they are saying about him.

Bob.. Maria.. excellent comments.. and it is the scary fact.. obama is no doubt trying to bring down this country from the inside! i have been saying this over and over.. and it is getting confirmed over and over.. I would prefer to be wrong rather than right in this case!

ok someone from Obama’s staff needs to start translating for him.. does he have no clue what others think of him.. they are only cheering because they know he is destroying their enemy for them.. and the cheers in the USA are for those who have wanted this to be a socialist country (of course I am sure none of those idiots have an idea what a socialist country is like).

Is that the Venezualen way to say you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig? (you can dress up a monkey in silk but he’s still a monkey) Where are the race police? Where is the indignant outrage? Oh wait, it was Chavez that said it so it’s ok because we wouldn’t want to offend him.
