Wherever the Winds Blow…

By now, most of us have heard that Obama is thinking about taxing your healthcare benefits.  (The tax would then go to support the expanding government coverage that is being promised.)  The very same thing that he blasted McCain for suggesting a mere 4 to 5 months ago.

So, this should be snort worthy for some.

Romer: Obama is against taxing health care.

Romer said Obama personally was opposed to the idea, as he had been when Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) brought it up during the presidential campaign, but she would not rule out the idea that Obama would support such a proposal if it were approved by Congress.
“He is still opposed to it,” Romer said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “He certainly was very critical and very skeptical of it [during the campaign]. It is certainly not in our [budget] proposal. We have proposed other ways to deal with health care and to fund it. So it is not something he supports.”
Yet Romer would not shut the door on the idea when pressed by NBC’s David Gregory.
“I am not going to say one way or the other,” Romer added. “I think what [Obama] has said from the beginning is there is no such thing as Democratic or Republican ideas. They’re just good ideas. He will listen to good ideas. This is not one he has ever supported.”

“I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” – Clinton

“I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.” – Kerry

How can you tell a politician is lying to you?  His/her lips are moving.

So, even if he is dead set against this tax – the very same one that he vilified McCain over, stating that it would be the largest tax hike on the middle class, ever – if Congress says that it is “OK”, he’ll go with the flow?  Where’s the leadership?  All I see is a coward, hiding behind others’ decisions, so that there is always someone else to blame.

And I say that with great trepidation.  Because I did not agree with any of the “campaign promises” that he made.  I am left wondering how did we get stuck with Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber running the country?
