Further Calls For Obamamessiah Day
terribly early in the morning on Wednesday, the 10th of December 2008 by Katie
Evidently, the call for Obamamessiah Day is spreading.
Do I need to point out, yet again, that we don’t have holidays in our country for still-living people? Think about it, name one Federal Holiday for a living soul. So, why change all precedent for a person who still hasn’t actually DONE anything?
And don’t tell me that he should have a holiday, just because he was elected. Because they already have that one covered. It is called President’s Day.
And, isn’t there an inherent “conflict of interest” in naming all future Federal Election Days “Obamamessiah Day”? Think about it, every time that you step up to the booth to place your vote, it will be on Obamamessiah Day, if these people get their way.
I don’t recall a similar day for Bush. We could have had one. Famous for the day that we were saved (temporarily at least) from the Goricle.
Remember, Obamamessiah’s election was not the clear mandate that they want you to believe it was. He won by only one percentage point more of the popular vote than Bush did. Yet, while Bush “stole” the election, Obamamessiah is a clear mandate. Think about it.
Sonny Scroggins, who heads a group called Bias Busters of Kansas, wants to see the first Tuesday in November named Barack Obama Day.
“A lot of Third World countries, when they open their polls up and people go to vote for their favorite candidate, they get off,” he said. “One thing has always been since ‘69 to get more people involved in the electoral process, so this would be one way of increasing voter participation.”
So, he’s comparing us with third world countries? I’m sorry, if you can’t put a little effort into voting, is it really all that important to you? We have absentee ballots. Early voting. Extended polling hours on Election Day. And you still say that you can’t get out to vote? Really?
He added with the inauguration coming up, he wants Obama supporters in Maryland to start forming coalitions now to start planning their own Obama Day promotions.
Come on. Washington DC is already extending their bar hours, what more do you want?
Washington DC is the LAST place I’d want to be on Inauguration Day. Millions of people, who have partaken of the extended bar hours, standing in the freezing (Jan in DC is never very warm) weather, doing nothing. Honestly, the view of the Capital building from the Lincoln monument isn’t that grand….

all i can figure.. perhaps they are planning for his early death?
but definitely, there is nothing remarkable or special about him or his election that makes him someone who should be honored, celebrated, etc..
and he has not even stepped into office yet.. and yet they are praising his existance..
seriously way too many brain dead morons out there!
