I just don’t get Some people….

I can not stand when people bathe in perfume.. sickening. (Really don’t understand perfume anyhow, just nasty, plus expensive.. ).

BUT.. to take it to court.. seriously some things are just insane and disturbing.. and anyone who has to take a co-worker’s stench issues to court.. sigh!

This is something that should be handled in company.. and if the co-worker was ignorant to respecting her other coworkers, then you take it to the manager, and keep going up from there.. so did this go through all those levels? Was the company that callous? Then I recommend finding other employment, cause I highly doubt that was the worst of the work issues there!

DETROIT (AP) — A federal judge says a Detroit city employee can proceed with a civil suit claiming she couldn’t work because of a co-worker’s strong perfume.

The Detroit News says U.S. District Judge Lawrence Zatkoff determined Susan McBride has a potential claim under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The city is asking to have the suit dismissed.

McBride says she’s severely sensitive to perfumes and other cosmetics. She says the perfume worn by a co-worker in the city’s Planning Department made it difficult for her to breathe.

She says the co-worker also used a plugged in room deodorizer.

The suit says the co-worker later agreed to stop using the room deodorizer but kept using perfume.

The woman might discover that the perfume is covering up fouler stenches….

Never really understood perfume myself. I did use a dab on occassion when I was younger. But, aware that there was a definite line of “nice” and “overpowering” I always was careful.

This is something that the job should have addressed. And, since it is a city worker, it looks like taxpayers will be paying for this one, too.

Maybe woman with the overly sensitive nose should seek employment in an environment that suits her “disability”. Instead of expecting everyone to change for her. She could find a job that she can work from home or that she could work outside or in her own office.

Frankly, I am tired of the “one” deciding the rules for the “many”. It is this mentality that is killing Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Ditto.. the one vote for the many.. and everyone else having to compensate for the sake of one person.. it is just stupid!
