Abortion = Carbon Credit Sayeth the UN

around lunchtime on Tuesday, the 18th of November 2008 by Katie

Transcript from Hannity & Colmes.

The interview is with Chris Horner, author of “Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmist Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed.”

Catchy title.  I have a feeling that this is going to be on my Christmas shopping list.

Excerpt from the interview – Horner states:

For example, President-elect Obama has indicated he wants to reclassify the Kyoto Protocol, which has been stalled in the Senate for 10 years. We signed it — we signed it 10 years ago Wednesday, even though you guys can’t get that right.

And he wants to reclassify it as an executive agreement. He wants to reclassify it as an executive agreement, requiring a simple up or down no amendment, no filibuster vote, in order to get around opposition and a little something called the Constitution. So if that doesn’t alarm you, then no, you should feel just fine.

Hmmm, reason 9,999,987,778 (and counting) to not like Obama.

But Horner continues:

More than half of the UK school children polled reported that they lost sleep at night, terrified over catastrophic manmade global warming that’s being indoctrinated into their heads by the schools. We have something efforts underway here in California, and it includes what they call pester power and also reporting on their parents.

Now, I thought you believed in separation of church and state. This clearly violates that.

For more on “pester power” go to here.  Evidently some nut-root driven CA initiative that instruct children to go home and nag their parents to get solar panels, etc.  Oh, also encourages children to rat out their parents (Hitler would be proud).  But, back to the interview.

HORNER: Yes, here’s what happened. About 18 months ago, at a Kyoto negotiation in Thailand, China suggested that, because of their family planning policy, that they should be given carbon offsets to sell back to Europe and, ultimately, the United States, on the basis that their population would be much larger if they would have all these babies that they aborted. And therefore, they would have a much larger carbon footprint. And we should pay them for these offsets.

HANNITY: That’s great.

HORNER: That’s reprehensible. And the European leaders (ph) thought it was great, and the U.N. thought it was great.

HANNITY: And where’s some of the biggest polluters? Right? Which countries? Right, Chris? It’s almost…

HORNER: Well, if you believe that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, then China would be the world’s greatest polluter.

Oh, that’s rich.  China wants the US to pay them for their “carbon credits”.  Credits that they “won” from the UN for their successful(ie mandatory) abortion and sterilization campaign.  Hey, UN – we have Roe v. Wade – where’s our credits?

Does anyone else see what is wrong with this picture?

It is just so wrong on so many levels.

Oh, other funny and outrageous story for Gore’s carbon crap theories….

It is OK for people in Africa to procreate like bunnies. But, it is evil for industrialized countries to even maintain their populations. Reason: non-industrialized countries’ children have a smaller carbon footprint, while the evil industrial children have the mega-footprint.

But his theory completely overlooks the starvation, misery, population problems, etc. that are endemic in many of the countries that the Gorical has said can procreate with abandon….

What about the suffering of a population that is unable to sustain itself? Or the personal suffering of a mother who bares 10 children, only to watch 8 die?
