Mandates and Will of the Electorate
mid-morning on Friday, the 14th of November 2008 by Capt Jake Fortune
So on the one hand you have the "52%" group telling the "48%" that they lost, deal with it, drink the koolaid and fall in line behind Der Obama because he has a mandate. The Dems won 52% of the vote and that means no dissent will be tolerated.
On the other hand you have roughly the same group of people. Attacking old women. Sending white powder to threaten an anthrax attack. Attacking and terrorizing religious groups following their doctrine. Threatening lawsuits because they lost the vote and want the results overturned. I thought Prop 8 won by 52% of the vote?
What happened to the whole mandate of the people? Isn’t that what is so important?
Or could it be that this is all a lie. This whole reaching out they’re trying to pull. That’s what I say. I never see power-hungry Republicans politicians in real life, only in the movies. Corrupt ones sure. Complete tools all the time. Oh but the reaction from the left has been very telling. Freedom? Individuality? Never mentioned as any of their goals. Merely falling lockstep in "social justice" issues.

The desire of the left to control and dominate will never end. There is always another cause to fight, another group to slander…it’s what they do.

You forgot to mention the group that completely broke up the church service, chanted that “Jesus was a homo”, threw leaflets into the crowd, surrounded the outside of the church, strung banners in the church, and then pulled the fire alarms.
Class.
maybe the police should arrest the protesters for hate crimes…
But, you’re not winning any friends when you behave like that. People that might be on the fence or even leaning towards your agenda, will come to hate “the cause” for doing that to their church, especially when there are children around.
I know that if anyone did that in front of my children, they would win themselves an enemy that they won’t forget.

So you’re saying that the sissymaries had a hissy fit when they didn’t get what they want?
I look at it like this. When you look at someone like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi, they aren’t trying to piss off everyone. They’re setting a good example that would ultimately move people to their view. Nothing outrageous unless you’re ultra-sensitive from what I’ve seen and heard. They are just trying to do their thing and get by. When I see things like that, the personal freedom side of me thinks that they should be allowed what they’re asking for.
But then you see the groups that are having sex in the street during the parades, are ‘protesting’ they way that they’re doing now, and generally extremely bad behavior, and that group is both losing supporters they had and also polarizing the rest of the population against them.

I though Jesus was a community organizer… lol
Honestly, when that line started being used by our friends on the left, I responded with, no, Barabbas was the community organizer. I was met with blank stares.
It says much about the role of faith and religion in the lives of our left-wing brothers and sisters that they have reduced Him to the equivalent of some sort of ancient ACORN activist.

I think what peeves me off is that you have a group that is demanding respect, but chooses to go about it by disrespecting others.
I just don’t see it as a way to win friends or acceptance.
