Don’t we Already Have a President’s Day?

in the late afternoon on Sunday, the 9th of November 2008 by Katie

Evidently, people are already pushing for a National Holiday in honor of Obama.  Give me a break.  We already have a President’s Day.  That should cover him.  It already covers all the great presidents who actually already have accomplished something.

““Yes We Can” planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald’s restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13. The goals are to secure a national holiday in Obama’s honor, to organize celebrations around his inauguration and to celebrate the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12 1809.”

And what would we call it?  Obamamessiah Day?  When would it be?  His birthday?  His ascension day?  And, do I need to point this one out – he is still living (Thank goodness).  We don’t have holidays in this country for people who are still actively walking around.

Total bullshit. I’ll bet THIS is Michele Malkin’s “source” for a similar reference-less blog post.
Yea Christians need to settle this in your own communities. I know that the Episcopalian churches I grew up in would reject fear and hate mongering. This story is just that. A rumor. Time to clean your house, Christians.

hey Dillon, as a christian, aren’t you supposed to like, not cuss, and stuff?

But I digress. Fear and hate-mongering aside, this story appeared in the Topeka Capital-Journal’s website, not sure yet about the print edition.

As an aside, what do you mean by house-cleaning?
