Another Rantings: Human Respect.

Did it die? Where did it go? What ever happened to having respect for other people?? How about just common decency?

Why has it come to this…?
“¢ Letting a door slam into someone’s face, instead of kindly holding it open for the next person?
“¢ Fiddling with something, watching TV, changing radio stations, etc… Instead of paying attention to the person who is talking to you?
“¢ OOH I see this one on TV way too much: Talking over someone, instead of letting them complete a sentence!
“¢ Cursing… every other word (or even more for some folk) being a curse word, what happened to respecting people you are speaking too, can they not find better words to use? How on earth can using curse words so frequently?

Ok touching on cursing for a moment. I believe in the freedom of speech, and however a person needs to express oneself to express their point of view. BUT how necessary is it to curse so frequently? I am not a prude, but I do find it unnecessary and does show disrespect for others as well it does make the speaker appear less intelligent.

Back to my points, let me touch on parents for a bit:
“¢ Letting your children run in the street, careless of vehicles that travel there!
“¢ Letting your children run through your neighbors front yard! Let me expand on that one, the neighbors kids not only run through our front yard but through the plantings along the windows (excessive, unnecessary, and rude!).
“¢ Another one: neighbors kids taking stones from our front plantings and throwing them at our home, their excuse when I confronted them… that is right they did not apologize for taking stones from our yard and they did not apologize for throwing them at our house, they explained they were throwing them kids who were on the property behind our home..
WHAT THE HECK!?

Now I blame this on the area we currently live. I never saw this kind of behavior when I was growing up, nor when I returned to visit. I did not see kids behaving like this when my husband I visited Colorado… kids even used the sidewalk!! Kids had respect, and were polite!

OK so had to share that rant, it is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, and a concern that people have lost respect for one another, again this likely is isolated to this area… and I feel for those who live here who actually care.. But I can tell you I won’t miss it!
