More Problems in Ohio

terribly early in the morning on Thursday, the 16th of October 2008 by Katie

“About 200K Ohio voters have records discrepancies”.  Evidently, one in every three new registrations filed in Ohio, had some sort of discrepancy, described as anything from a possible misspelling to one of “far greater concern”.

Ohio is also the state that allowed one stop shopping for voters.  For one week, voters were able to register and vote at the same time.  So, there it is fairly certain that some of these questionable registrants have already placed their votes.

As discussed on Michelle Malkin’s site yesterday, there was a voter fraud house, a house that “13 newly registered voters who came to Columbus for a get-out-the-vote campaign and used the same address, a small East Side home.”

I would never want a qualified person to be unable to vote.  But, there has to be a way to verify someone’s qualifications (ie their age, residency, criminal status, citizenship).  Should we start dipping voter’s fingers in ink, like they do in Iraq?

similar to the ink votes in Iraq.. i do think we should do an electronic fingerprint vote..

fingerprints can now be done basically on what looks like a scanner bed.. many laptops have fingerprint readers.. why on earth doesn;t our voting set up have a fingerprint voting set up?

on a daily basis it could run through the system.. and if there is a duplicate fingerprint (and the vote was the same) it would toss out the duplicate (if it was different… it would toss both votes out and mail to the voter they need to re-vote) there could be glitches.. but unlikely the degree that the dishonestly factor allows..

Fingerprint votes – would be good, but the ACLU and such would throw up the roadblocks. Heck, they don’t even want people to actually have to show any ID.

I don’t mind the way it’s handled in the other countries, you get the 3 day ink put on your finger.

If you think about it, with the ink method, voters wouldn’t even need to register. Mail in voters would be an issue I’d think but not insurmountable. Whoever shows up to vote on Election Day can vote once, be marked, and no fraud is possible that I can think of. Well, anyone with very fresh finger amputations would be double checked of course…

I’d still opt for registration and inking. The only reason I still hold to registration is that there are too many adults in our country who should not vote (illegals, felons, under 18 but look like they are 25).

And they should require people to show some proof of identity at the polls. No surprise that I don’t give a hoot for the ACLU’s problems with this. There is no reason that an adult in this country can’t get an id…

Will you look at that! Look how she moves! It's like Jell-O on springs. Must have some sort of built-in motor or something. I tell you, it's a whole different sex!
