Why I hate CNN

Lead line at CNN.com

Barack Obama’s lead over John McCain has shrunk to just one point — 44 percent to 43 percent, according to CNN’s poll of polls released Sunday.

Meanwhile everyone else is trumpeting that McCain is several points ahead on most polls:

John McCain bested Barack Obama 50-46 percent among registered voters in the latest USA Today/Gallup poll, jumping 11 points over his previous showing and taking his biggest lead since January.

And in other polls, McCain is up to 54% among likely voters.

In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama [spit] by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.

That’s a huge 10 point lead in the best indicator: likely voters.  And yet CNN is still trying to have Obama [spit] in the lead.

Something important to remember come election day.  New Jersey and Maryland, at least, have passed laws saying that it doesn’t matter who their citizens vote for at all.  Whoever wins the national popular vote gets the slate of electors from those states.

So imagine how funny it is going to be when those fascist state governments that voted that law in to help Democrats win will have to vote for Republicans in November if the current polls hold true through the election.

Kind of funny reading comments on the CNN story.  Every excuse known to mankind as to why the polls don’t mean anything.  “Cell phone kids” and “Caller ID blockers” are proving the polls that for so long were true when Obama [spit] was in the lead are suddenly useless.  And “new voters” will vote all Democrat.  Oh yeah, and the leftists have to take off the gloves and start the attack, they’ve been too nice in the past.

It could be even funnier than that! If this comes to pass I’d wager that the same folks who passed these laws will then sue in court to have them overturned by arguing that they’re unconstitutional. Sweet, sweet schadenfreude! :D

The only reason those libs are discounting CNN’s latest poll is plain and simple; they are scared to death that their Messiah is going down come Nov.

Chad, I came to the blogs to post about this insanity about how equal they are, when EVERY SINGLE OTHER WEBSITE is saying a 10 point lead for McCain! You beat me to it though. I couldn’t have put it any better. Objective news, my a#&!! Once again, a perfect example of Democrat whining. Never ceases to amaze me. (just wanted to point out that I’m being environmentally-friendly by typing this on a computer. Lunatics.)

Funny how when the polls are against the Republicans they say they don’t believe in them, but they blow a mighty horn when the polls tip in their favor.

Funny how the Repulicans keep copying what the Dems are doing! :D

    Is that true?
How come I never heard this before?

And how come all the EV calculators are not taking this into effect, and putting these states up for grabs and instead giving them to Obama?

  8. Chad Says:

http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/ is the site you’re looking for that describes how Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey have enacted scheme.

As to why the EV calculators aren’t showing it, that’s a great question. Now that the polls show McCain/Palin in the lead, this means that those 4 states must show up as Republican.

    Great article.. and Great comments!
I love how defensive Democrats get.. I get a kick out of just one point lead will make them excited.. but they have proven how scared they are.. they are failing.. and it is obvious.. and I hope they fail! I hope there may be some democratsout there with a clue who might surface.. i hope the rest forget what day they vote on or where to go!
The election has definitely been picking up speed and excitement as we approach that finish line! Come’on McCain & Palin.. you can do it!

Wait a minute… so Illinois, Obama’s Home State, could elect McCain if (and when) he wins the popular vote Nationaly?

  11. Chad Says:

The way I read that site that’s true. It’s part of a “progressive” scheme to fix things like where Bush loses the popular vote but wins the presidency.

  12. Katie Says:

Talk about a state shooting itself in the foot. For example, all of the NJ electoral votes will go to the winner of the National vote, not to the winner of the NJ vote. So, why would a politician even bother to stop in NJ? (OK, why would anyone want to stop in NJ?). If I were a NJ resident, why would I even bother to go vote? My vote would count for zilch.

CNN - the only reason I stop and watch sometimes is Glen Beck. Why bother with any of their other shows?

It hasn’t kicked in yet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amar_Plan

Basically, it’s a movement to get enough states to switch to this system that it will circumvent the Electoral College. When enough states to amass 270 Electoral Votes have signed on, then it will kick in, but not until then.

So this election, and conceivably the next couple as well, will proceed as normal.

  14. Chad Says:

Looks like Marchand is right and it doesn’t take effect yet. I don’t recall seeing that it doesn’t take effect yet in the stories I read early this year talking about it. The story I remembered was specifically about New Jersey and made it sound like it was taking effect immediately.
As it is, I still hate the idea.

  15. Tina Says:

If (hopefully when) McCain wins the dems may find away to get that “Amar Plan” in action, after having another hissy fit because theydid notget their way again!

  16. Mam Says:

I’m so glad others have picked up on this. As it is, I term CNN as OINN (the Obama infomercial news network).

  17. Joe Says:

I think cnn does the polls of the polls, which might be why the polls are so different. But its to bad everyone remember the last eight years before voting.
