Yet another reason to not watch oprah

just before lunchtime on Friday, the 5th of September 2008 by Katie

From the Drudge Report:

OPRAH’S STATEMENT: “The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

BIG DILEMMA: OPRAH BALKS AT HOSTING SARAH PALIN; STAFF DIVIDED
Fri Sep 05 2008 08:55:46 ET
Oprah Winfrey may have introduced Democrat Barack Obama to the women of America — but the talkshow queen is not rushing to embrace the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket!
Oprah’s staff is sharply divided on the merits of booking Sarah Palin, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
“Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on,” an insider explains. “Oprah’s website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama.”
One executive close to Winfrey is warning any Palin ban could ignite a dramatic backlash!
It is not clear if Oprah has softened her position after watching Palin’s historic convention speech.
Last year, Winfrey blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.
Oprah and executive producer Sheri Salata, who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama’s campaign, refused requests for comment.
Developing…”

Gee, no bias there.  Oprah nearly fell over her tongue when she had Obama on.  But she absolutely refuses to have Palin on.  She claims to not want her show to be a platform for a candidate, but she dedicated an entire hour to Obama.  Yet, now she claims to not want to use her show as a platform.
Women – why are you still watching her?

I think there was some brainwashing technique used in the obama campaign.. i keep hoping people are not that stupid.. but.. well we know they are.. it is just painful to realize!

i just hope there are enough women with a clue who somehow accidentally watch oprah.. who realize this bias.. and cease watching her show and funding her evil.

I was astounded when I saw that Oprah refused to have Palin on. She used the argument that she would love to have her on after the election, but not before, so that Palin couldn’t use the show as a platform.

And, I would accept that statement, if Oprah had not already had a highly publicized “event”, when Obama sat on her couch for an entire hour. Now, why wasn’t that considered a platform, also?

Oprah has the right to have who she wants, but her viewers and her sponsers have the right to turn her off.

Based on the comments at her blog (over 2000 now), not all her fans are liberal (first few pages, not many at all). Many are thinking women who wanted to see Palin, are offended by the statement and don’t like the decision. They thought more of Oprah than that.

I’m not a fan, not a member, didn’t post but found the reading interesting.

Bertie.. i do hope Oprahs non liberal base will realize who she is now, and turn fromm her.. it is sad.. she could have been a better person.. she had said she didnot want to get into the political stuff.. but she did.. and now she should expect what is going to happen from that.. if i were a fan of hers i would be turned off by it and turn her off (watching).. thank you for sharing!

I saw a yak-worthy “TV entertainment news” story today. Talking about the new Oprah season. It is to have the US Olympians on the show. They asked a question to one of the Olympians (forgive me, I forget which) about going on the show – the Olympian made the comment that she’d go running anytime Oprah called.

Then the “yak” part (yes, the above wasn’t it). The interviewer asked Oprah who would get her running if they called. Oprah thanked the interviewer for the opening – and proudly proclaimed OBAMA!!! (Excuse me, I think I have to hurl again)

the demented love fest for obama is sickening and perplexing!

  7. Maxine Olson Says:

Ms. Palin lies, distorts, and seduces to get what she wants. She has no respect for anyone, only a superficial congeniality and a wink that denies any sense of history, substance, compassion or truth.

From your response I detect that you only want to hear some more lies.

  8. Katie Says:

In case you dimwits haven’t noticed, Palin was probably the most honest thing about the entire election.

But, you are probably too busy being fed the kool-aid by the main street media to notice.

And you know, it was enough to buy the election. Whatever.

Just remember, there were those of us that warned you. When you ignored the fact that Obama’s campaign contributions were highly questionable, you wasted your time pondering the maternity of Palin’s child. When the media purposely withheld damning video (Obama promising to bankrupt the coal industry and Obama toasting a PLO spokesman) you wasted your time berating Palin’s mothering capability. When Obama promised to “spread the wealth” you ignored the fact that he might be spreading your wealth, also. When ACORN registered ineligible and dead people by the thousands and more you ignored it. When the media promises to “support the next President, no matter what” you are too stupid to see that there is a problem with that.

And the reason that I am pissed right now, is that you and your kind have stolen every change and opportunity that I have, and even worse, you have robbed my children of the American dream.

Talk to me in four years, maybe by then you’ll have a clue.
