Hallmark capitalizing on latest "Fad"?

Ready for this?? Ok it really is not a shock.. Hallmark is a business.. and just thinking of the bottom line, but to what end?

I am just picturing the shelves of congratulations cards, many with religious sentiments.. then next to those blatant gay ones.

Now here is where I wonder what the real need of this is.. most cards for weddings do not even say “many & wife”.. many just innocuously say “couple” which could easily apply to a gay couple. So why make a whole ‘nother category? Simple as this.. MONEY! But again to what end?

Most states don’t recognize gay marriage - but now Hallmark does.

Again we can “Thank” Massachusetts & California as they lead the “gay” parade!

Hallmark added the cards after California joined Massachusetts as the only U.S. states with legal gay marriage.

They chose to keep them neutral.. and I see the reason for that.. there are plenty of states that do not recognize gay marriage, so these neutral ones embrace the commitment ceremonies too.

So if you oppose this concept, you can look to American Greetings instead:

American Greetings Corp., has no plans to enter the market, saying its current offerings are general enough to speak to a lot of different relationships.

And with as gay as Hallmark looks like it is getting American Greetings I think may just get more popular among those who oppose the popularity of the gay bandwagon… get this one.. “Coming Out” cards.. ARGHHHHHH

Hallmark started offering “coming out” cards last year, and the four designs of same-sex marriage cards are being gradually released this summer and will be widely available by next year.

Hallmark does not end its bizarre line there..

has added a wider variety lately. It now offers cards for difficulty getting pregnant or going through rehab.

Oh come’ on.. difficulty getting pregnant cards? That is the last card I would want someone to send me! And rehab cards.. That is disturbing, completely disturbing!

Back to Hallmark’s bizarre wedding cards.. interracial, inter-religious.. seriously what ever happened to just 2 people married, due to love… and wishing them happiness? Now we have to get into these details that are trivial, and what is the point of highlighting them.. they have no importance when it comes to love! It should not matter if one is black & one is white, or anything else that sounds (when highlighted on a greeting card) more of a separation vs a joining of two people!

Hallmark has 200 different wedding cards on the market, including some catering to interracial or inter-religious marriages and blended families.

Hallmark even pulled a card that had the work “queer” in it because the Advocate opposed it. Now when I was a kid if we used words like queer or faggot we were made to write the word & definition 500 times.. we knew the meanings of these words really well.. a faggot is a bundle of sticks & queer means odd or unusual. heck the word “gay” once meant happy!

Interesting ending to this article.. hallmark is allowing shops to decide if they will carry these gay marriage cards.. gee wonder how long that will later.. as Massachusetts & California keep pushing gay acceptance on everyone!
