I gotta go, I gotta go NOW!

at around evening time on Thursday, the 14th of August 2008 by Tina

I knew a kid in middle school who the teacher refused to let him go to the bathroom, so he just stood up and went right then & there before everyone.. this teacher (in this article) should be thankful this kid chose a bottle!

Perhaps this kid had other discipline issues, perhaps he abused the bathroom policy… perhaps the teacher is a tyrant and just wanted to be mean.

Of course because the kid is black & teacher is white, they had to bring up the race issue. Thankfully both sides are denying race was an issue.

School officials on Monday suspended a 14-year-old boy who said he had to urinate in a bottle after his science teacher refused to let him use the restroom. The teacher was being transferred to another school.

When I was a kid (about 3 or 4) I had to go to the bathroom, my parents told me to wait.. I said I gotta go NOW.. and did.. my parents had a fit, and they felt the need to remind me often of that incident! Sigh.

When a kid needs to go, often there is a time issue involved!

This was a story that looks bad, at one slice of time. What we don’t know is the background. Was the teacher completely unreasonable? Or did the student disrupt class, every day? Was this the third request in a one hour time frame? Did he do this every day? Was he a perfect student and this was the first request?

This reminds me of a “photo moment”. Something that in that one frame looks bad. But, if you fill in the story around it, there might have been a perfectly reasonable explanation.

that is always the case.. the missing lines in a story.. but it does sound like the teacher was just being a jerk, and or had a bad day. either way that is wrong… if i missed something and it was an obnoxious kid.. then that is a whole ‘nother story.
