Is it possible for Denzel Washington to NOT play the same character over and over and over and over and over and over again?
From what the commercials look like, he is playing the same character he always has in every movie I’ve seen with him. Crimson Tide, Philadelphia, Courage Under Fire, The Seige, etc.
Always fighting The Man in the most self righteous way possible.
It gets very old. Show some range dude….

      there are alot of actors like that.. that have one part they play well and nothing more.. shall we do a list?

      I think what is more irritating about the parts denzel plays is not his lack of range but the character hs plays (over, and over, and over and…again).

      he plays that “poor” black man who is beaten by the “white” man role.. cause as you know they really have “no” breaks in life, and they are still “beaten” by the “white” man.. (umm “they” must realize by now the beating is by their own people by having this whoa is me attitude, and the white man owes us for the treatment of our great-great-great-great grand 12th cousin removed.. )

      the rant begins:
      Too many black people out there get jobs and keep jobs they don’t deserve because if they don’t get the job or if they get fired they will scream racial complaints.. umm perhaps they did not get the job or got fired was because they did not get the job??

      i worked in a tech company that as things were falling apart, all the white people were fired (the ones who came on time or early, who did their work, and did it well.. etc, etc..) i watched as not one black person lost their job.. (this is nothing against black people.. but these black people did not lose their job just because of the racial bull.. these were the ones who came to work late, left early, took extended lunches, while “working” they were on personal calls, or on a smoke break.. and when and if they “did” work they made things much worse, things i had to go behind and clean up every single time!).. they were NEVER fired, they were carried until the company lost all their contracts and crumbled to the ground.. gee how did that happen?

      i recently had THE WORST eye exam of my life!! i have worn eyeglasses for more then 2 1/2 decades!!!! I have been impressed by very few eye doctors, but just not impressed not totally disgusted and blown away but complete lack of service & ethics!

      I should have turn and ran when i saw the staff was all black, that the NAACP and other black organizations plastered all over the walls.. but i have never been a prejudice person.. i never judged people this way, but living in DE has changed this dramatically over the years for me.. i do not like it one bit.. but these are the reason’s why, the racial bull that makes employers hire them otherwise they could get a law suit, makes them keep them employed for the same reason!!

      So i stayed, i went in the exam room.. i waited and waited,.. eventually the doc came in the room.. and here is where the decline began.. he started a sermon that belonged in a Southern Baptist Church, with the women fanning themselves, and yelling Amen every second, and a gospal chior singing behind him.. he went on and on, and on and on, and on and on, and ok youget the idea.. but 2 hours of a sermon.. yes 2 hours!! He then realized i was there for an Eye Exam.. and did a 5 second quickie.. really it was no more then 5 seconds, i counted!!

      You think that would be enough?? Naw, dumb forgiving me just let it roll… and bought glasses too.. sigh.. this is where it got even uglier…

      The optician (and i really hate to say she was and optician.. because I have seen at the worst optical shops people with more of a clue!) she had no service ability either, she was inconsiderate, not helpful, and just horrible.. but i did not let that get to me, i figured (dumb me) that i would order, get my specs and be done.. HA! how wrong i was.. (note: i had been an optician for years, so this is why i was figuring no biggie on any service i was NOT getting).. Soo here we go:

      She tells me they will be in, in a week (I know this is not likely since I went with anti-reflective, which rarely arrives that soon.. should be 2 weeks).. so at 2 weeks, i call.. and they “just” arrived.. I went in to get them, and besides I could not see out of them there was a gash in the one lenses.. they were going to dispense them like that?? Plus these specs that are about $300 ($175 after insurance) they were dispensing with a cheap five cent flat velour case! She also made not effort to make adjustments! Oh yeah, big shock a 5 second exam gave an RX i could not see out of.. gee go figure!

      Ok.. so he re-exams me.. reorders the specs.. again i have to call.. (great service, eh?) I call, after 2 weeks, again.. and they are in.. ok.. so i go in again, and again i can not see out of them.. i did try them over night to see if it was just the new rx adaption.. but nope, major headache and nausea.. something was not right… so i brought them back with my previous eye doc rx, and that doc’s phone etc.. handed them over asked them to make them in this rx and call me when they are in.

      Again i have to call.. 2 weeks later they are in.. i go to get them, I was too angry to spend alot of time examining the specs.. so i just brought them home.. (they again never did any adjustments).. i still could not see right out of them.. and there was a big round spot on the one lens.. i came right back, asked do they check the specs before dispensing.. “yeah” i said you might want to try opening your eyes next time.. i said make them right, correct rx, with out flaws! “we will go get the doctor” I said that is not necessary.. simply send them back.. have them made with out flaws & with the correct rx.. (being they are the same rx i was currently wearing at this time.. i should have no adjustment between specs.. they were the same material etc).. I also let my insurance co know about all this problem, and requested a new exam with a competent doctor, and specs too..

      OK so now AGAIN the specs have been remade.. (I had sent the office a letter, letting them know if there is ANY flaw, &or the RX is wrong AGAIN, i expect a FULL refund.. ) So i get a call.. i called back, and Asked are they correct? did you make sure their are no flaws.. i get a call back.. “we have mailed your eyeglasses”… they arrive with a Gash in the Lens!!!!!!

      I called the office immediately (they were closed, so i left a message) re: the gash and that i expect a full refund! I did not get a call back for several days.. i then called again & left a message that i will be in the next day to pick up my check and leave the specs.. i got an immediate call refusing the refund..

      Ok so along with all this.. there were several stops i made in between that the office was closed, when the sign shows they should be open.. i would arrive at 4:30 pm office hours were till 5pm.. they made no apology.. just excuses.. The staff was/is rude, the doctor was/is incompetent, just completely the worst experience I have ever had!!

      I am not denying there was a time that was not fair to black folk.. but giving someone a job and letting them keep a job just because they are black is no better.. How could that make someone feel good about theirselves? To just be given a job because of their race, to be allowed to keep a job because of their race.. regardless of their abilities??

      That just disgusts me, and baffles me how they can be proud of such an “accomplishment” rather lack there of.. the “accomplishment” is strictly that there is a threat of law suit of they are not hired and not fired!

      Anyhow so that is my rant of the day!
