What do you do all day?

This post is dedicated to my friend Katie…
We discuss often about the femi-nazis and how they have ruined things so much, they look down on women who choose to raise their kids, instead of having others do it for them. We have discussed about how they have placed so much importance on career over family.
Family though can mean just husband & wife too, which allot of people seem to forget.. my husband & I do not have kids… but we have each other & amazing border collie.
My hubbie shared this article with me, and I loved it from the title onward!
When people ask me what I do, that takes allot of audacity… of course my other favorite is how many kids do I have… that is just as bad. Like there is no other option… like not having kids (yes there are people that are not insanely fertile!). While we do not have kids, we have looked to adoption.. but if we can not find the right kiddo, we are happy with it being just us two!
Davis, who lives in Lewisville, Texas, isn’t a mother, nor does she telecommute. She is a stay-at-home wife, which makes her something of a pioneer in the post-feminist world.
“I’d never say that a woman shouldn’t work,” she says. “But I don’t see what good it would do to work in a job that I couldn’t stand, and if I have the choice not to, why wouldn’t I take that opportunity?”
“Everyone seems to be OK with women staying home when they have kids,” says Davis, who currently doesn’t plan to have children. “I’ve actually heard people say that women who don’t work are a drain on society.”

I’d never question why a woman would choose to stay at home, with or without kids. There is so much to do in the house, and I think that people completely overlook that fact. Maybe they believe in the laundry fairies or something.
I tend to look at life and marriage as a team effort. The goal is to make it to the end, together, as happy as you can be. If that means that a couple finds that the best way to get across that finish line is for one to stay at home, keep the house in a liveable condition, prepare great (and not so great) meals - more power to them. Frankly, I think, if possible, that would be the way to be most successful. One works out of the house all week. One stays at home, cleans, cooks, etc., all week. Both have the leisure, during the weekends, to completely relax, enjoy each other’s company, etc. Sounds wonderful.
And, isn’t that the way that humans have lived, basically forever? That is, until the darned femi-nazi’s came around.

I knew you would by no means question one person staying home to care for home & or family.
And yes I think many people seem to think homes are self-cleaning.
And yes the relationshi above all things is the most important.
On the Fem-nazis.. looks like they are being muzzled, at long last! Woo HOO!!
