Confused Home Buyers
in the early evening on Sunday, the 3rd of August 2008 by Tina
Been catching some HGTV.. I enjoy the home make overs, and the people selling their homes… the shows I find funny are the home buyer shows.
The wishes kill me…
- I want to live in the city, but I do not want the noise, I want to be away from the traffic.
- I want to live in the country, but do not want a big yard.
- I want to live in the suburbs, but I do not want to live close to other people.
The conflicting desires crack me up!
Everything in life is a compromise… we look at our choices and decide what we can and cannot live with out, what makes us happy.
I am not a fan of suburbs, living close to other people… I would prefer to have trees, and acreage… but We (my husband & I) do love being so close to everything… we live in a really convenient area, in a great neighborhood, with great neighbors. So we had a gorgeous yard created, with several trees, and alot of stone… we have a private courtyard plus a big front porch (when we feel social… the front porch is great, since our neighbors often love to walk around the neighborhood). So it is a compromise… but worth it.
I just wonder about the house hunters who have such conflicting desires… has any one told them they need to figure out what is most important to them?? Sigh!

And remember, everything is always too small. I love the buying and selling shows. I also love the flipping shows. Although, they scare me. Some of the cheap and dangerous repairs that are made - could you imagine the poor innocent buyer finding those in a year or two?
And the buyers - complaining about the furniture. Do they ever figure out that the furniture will be moving? Does it matter what bedspread is on the bed? Yes, I realize, it does.

oh you got it.. i find that so funny how the home buyer is comming on wall colors, furniture, etc.. too funny.. they should be looking at the cruciall aspects of the home.
the room too small.. too big, etc.. sigh!
and the make overs.. some ofthose scare me too. one show i watched as they just slapped paint on a deck that was falling apart.. i watched as they do other repairs that i wonder how legal they are (with bathrooms, plumbing and electrical involved some of these need to have inspections.. but the shows timing it does not appear they had time for that)… sigh.. imagine the person who bought that home seeing the episode later.. ack! or are they decent enough to show them 1st? i hope they are!
