Horrors!

MTV is going to "remake" the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

MTV is planning to remake the 1975 cult classic turned cultural institution "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" reports Variety. The new version will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien but may also include music not featured in the original. The director and casting decisions have yet to be announced. The hope is for the project to be ready by Halloween 2009.

Anyone anywhere think this is a good idea? I don’t think so.

I just can’t say any more.

How could they possibly improve it? Love it for the camp, for the mistakes, for the actors, for the fond memories.

No one could replace Tim Curry for me. Yes, I realize that I am completely biased.

And has MTV made anything worthy of watching?

don’t think they claimed to IMPROVE it.. just remake it.. and that alone is HORRIFYING!
it was the timing of when that movie came out, the actors (though saradon makes me gag.. back then she did a good job in that movie).. but the timing of the movie, and how it was done… now it would be really tame compared to what has been out.. it would not have the samme impact unless they raunch it up.. and that would just ruin the 1st movie! and yes MTV seriously.. ugh
