Leftist Debate Skills

An email from a reader:

I was recently in a small debate with a leftist college professor in some forum. And generally, I find that when they are challenged they only respond with a stream of invective and insults, or try to shame you over something silly. For example, he triumphantly expressed: The US always supported Saddam when it was in our interests!

I noted, Well, of course! Should we have opposed him if what he was doing was in our interests? He had no answer for this.

The debate quickly escalated to a high point with the highly educated professor rebutting detailed points of policy by repeatedly repeating “f*ckface” over and over.

Yeah, that’s classy for you.  It’s bad enough when they use bad logic in debates.  But typically the discussion devolves like this.

Not surprising. Most of the disagreements that I have had with libs have general devolved into name calling on their part (’though usually not the f-bomb). Usually, I am a hater or a racist, or cold blooded, or uncaring, and sometimes a b****. And I am called this because I have the belief that people are capable of taking care of themselves and their families. And if that means that someone needs to force them off of the crackpipe of welfare, than so be it…

my liberal brother stopped speaking to me when it came to the last election. (note my lib brother lives in Florida)… I have not heard from him in 4 years… how sad is that?
