More on Teen Pregnancy

“The media doesn’t show the downside to teenagers getting pregnant,”

OK Magazine… this is one that I will make sure I never buy! Obviously they have no morals!

They made sure to quickly have Jamie Lynn Spears in their magazine when she became pregnant.. and at that time said she did not have a boyfriend! And they made sure to pay top dollar to get baby photos for a recent issue!

The magazine has Jamie Lynn’s quote “being a mom is the best feeling in the world.” GREAT…. that is a wonderful message to teen girls! Ma, errr grandma must be proud!

The rest of the article I thought was funny… “The mistake that some magazines make about the Spears is thinking they’re not a smart family”… but apparently OK Magazine finds the Spears family to be a smart family? They say Jamie Lynn learned by Britney’s example.. um yeah we see that, she is a teen mom… she really is a bright bulb in the group huh?

This quote is something I mentioned in a previous post “Babies are the new “it” factor in the celebrity market.” This IS A PROBLEM! Babies are a freaking accessory now.. they are a fashion icon, something to possess. How wrong is that? And teens, they look to celebrities.. and try to emulate them. That is scary!!

Again about this magazine.. and reading that article… they have compassion for the Spears family, and the reason I see is the profit they get from it.. not necessarily because they are a compassionate magazine. If they were they would have more care for their readers… knowing the impact glorifying teen pregnancy can cause. Disgusts me!
