More on the Girl Scouts

in the early afternoon on Thursday, the 17th of July 2008 by Tina

This pretty much sums up one of my key issues about the fall of the Girl Scouts.. while the Boy Scouts are standing their ground (yeah!) the girl scouts are giving in to every political BS thing that flies by.

My friend just shared with me this article, along with one that mentions Girl scouts Pro-Abortion/Pro-Lesbian bias…. check that one out to: Pro-Abortion/Pro-Lesbian and here is another one that discusses this Pro-Abortion Feminism, I love the comment on this one:

But I’m going to be critical of the Girl Scouts. I love the cookies, but the organization has somewhat rejected moral decency.

Another article from 2004 in Texas had troops closing up due to the the lack of morality of the Girl scouts.

“You’re telling these girls to raise their fingers up to pledge to honor God and country, and yet you’re handing out materials saying homosexuality is OK,” said Brownie leader Donna Coody, who disbanded her five-member troop.

The badges alone are shameful too… what on earth is an OIL UP badge? Ok guys no a pole is not involved.. but check out the badge..you tell me the bias on this one too.. I am sure there is something with "global-warming" somehow tied in.. since like I said they are catching every political wimper out there.

The badges…. oh the stinking badges.. they have one for becoming a teen.. apparently that is not achievable under normal circumstances? They have a stress badge.. because being a kid is so hard these days! Ummm what? Every single period of time has had it is issues for kids, no time has been easy for kids.. and it is not supposed to be..being a kid is a learning experience that makes them into strong adults who can handle life. if they have a cushy childhood what are they going to be like as adults? they are going to be afraid of their own shadow. So kids need some stress, they need challenges, they need to learn… so stress badge, what crap!

So explain what happened.. and for those who get annoyed over the strong stance of the Boy Scouts.. take a look at what has happened to the Girl Scouts. they have become a joke. They are a catch-pot for every political piece of crap that is slung, this (the girl scouts) should be proof positive how all the stuff liberals think we should embrace, is all bad ideas.

Everyone knows about the Boy Scouts, now one of the most controversial groups in America. But what about the Girl Scouts? All sugar and spice and everything nice, plus annual cookie sales, right? Not quite. The Girl Scouts of America have avoided the beleaguered status of the Boy Scouts only because the organization has surrendered to exactly the cultural forces the Boy Scouts are resisting. The Girl Scouts’ leaders hope to make their youthful charges the shock troops of an ongoing feminist revolution.

An excellent article which seems to cover most topics. It discusses the “journey” program that is being implemented this year. And the “it’s your world - change it” tagline.

“Becoming a Teen” badge. I, too, thought that this was something that happened. But, girl scouts evidently give a badge for it. But, on further research, I found that this is a sex ed badge, basically. According to the chat groups for leaders, I have found that Planned Parenthood provides the best reference material for this badge. Gee, anyone have a problem with their fifth grade daughter (that is 9 year old daughter) going to Planned Parenthood? They also strongly encourage troop leaders to have a “hat” discussion, so that the girls can secretly put in questions, and the troop leader should answer all of them. No matter what. I hope no one has a problem with a troop leader talking to their nine year old daughter about topics that I can’t even mention for fear of being bleeped out by someone’s porn filter…

Now, I’m not against informing my girls about sex. But, I want to do it. Not some feminazi freak. I have the right, as a parent, to explain to my daughters our family’s belief and morality.

Ooops, I’d say more, but the girls are hungry.

Ok I do have to say when it comes to a 5th grader.. sadly girls are getting their periods in 4th & 5th grade.. so the education does need to start asap.. I would dread having gone through that, that young.. but they do need to know. Alas so much of how things are handled by the girl scouts are frightening! (we did have our “sex-ed” when i was in 4th grade.. it was a coupon for our feminim protection kit, and what careers we could choose in our future.. secretary, teacher, model.. that was in school)

Naturally i do think it is the parents roll to prepare their kids and educate them when it comes to this stuff.. but proof is out there most parents can not do that. I know mine never did.. thankfully I found encyclopedias and medical books “fun” as a kid.. but i am a wierd one.

I know that girls need to educated regarding the mechanics by fourth and fifth grades. They are maturing by that point. I do think it is overkill for Girl Scouts to do it, when schools and parents are also.

I do think that it is a bit early to have your first trip to Planned Parenthood at age 9, though…

Here it is. I want Girl Scouts to be just that. With camping and badges and no political crap…

  4. Tina Says:

Girl scouts.. definitely should be what it was initially intended to be.. and what the boy scouts are still… teach skills, have fun, etc.. not be social activists..

  5. Scott Kirwin Says:

Wonder when they’ll start passing out merit badges for volunteering at an abortion clinic. Or maybe having one themselves.

  6. Katie Says:

I think that they might give that for the gold star award - the highest “honor” given to a girl scout.

  7. Tina Says:

Scott.. careful they may be stitching that one as you just noted that.. (abortion badge.. there couldbe two.. one for having one yourself and one for supporting them).

  8. Jack Coupal Says:

Sadly, females seem more attracted to politically correct problems and their so-called solutions, while males do not.

The Boy Scouts have been successful in rejecting forced admission of homosexual scoutmasters, in being ejected from funding by United Way campaigns (but, Boy Scout troops growing & succeeding anyway), etc.

In ten years time, I don’t think Girl Scouts will exist as an organization. As Tina says above, girls should be learning skills and having fun in Scouting. Social activism and fighting imaginary gender wars is destroying the Girl Scouts. Which is exactly what the Feminazis want.
