Etiquette

around lunchtime on Monday, the 9th of June 2008 by Chad

Dear Pirate-King,

I have an etiquette question.  In the lunch room at work, someone put their food in the microwave and started it, and then left.  The food has finished cooking, and several of us are in line but we have to wait now for the person to return.  What should we do?

Confused and Hungry.

Dear Confused and Hungry,

Obviously this person is much more important than you, which is why you are now wasting your time instead of them standing there for 2 minutes.

Since they are so much more important than you, you should help them, by making sure their food is still hot when they get there.  I’d recommend 5-6 more minutes on high power, or until you see the plastic melting on the turntable.  This will ensure they get a nice steamy lunch when they finally return.

And if they walk in and the meal is in there bubbling, just tell them that he imer has been acting up lately and that’s why YOU hang around and watch your stuff cook…

Come now, we all know you never eat lunch at work….

    Another solution:

SuperGlue the microwave door shut and put your lunch back in the fridge for tomorrow, then make it a fast food day.
