The Most Un-Democratic Democrats
mid-morning on Wednesday, the 28th of May 2008 by Chad
Watching the DNC’s woes is rather enjoyable. They’re really trying to implode themselves over the special privileges they’ve granted themselves over the years. Such as the whole “super-delegate” mess they’ve created.
The DNC notes that, on a “plain reading” of the statute, all DNC members have the right to serve as superdelegates, though the DNC has the right to consider that status on members of Congress and Democratic governors. “Arguably, then, Rule 20(C)(1) of the Delegate Selection Rules was invalidly adopted insofar as it provides that, if a State Party violates Rule 11 (the “Timing Rule”), none of the members of the DNC from that state are permitted to serve as delegates to the Convention.
From Marc Ambinder’s Atlantic blog.
You have the whole mess about how the party couldn’t control a few states, and took their votes away. They’ve disenfranchised millions of people. I was under the impression from the 2000 election debacle that every vote should count, even those votes that have been “spoiled” somehow. Because so many people’s voices now won’t be heard, how can the “election” at the Convention be treated as legitimate? Sounds more like an election in Zimbabwe than the US.
Then you have the likely possibility that Hillary Clinton will win the “popular vote” from all the Democratic primaries and caucuses. But “the party” will choose another. I was also under the impression from the 2000 election that the whole “Electoral College” method of voting was bad because the popular vote chose Al Gore. But no, the “rich and powerful” superdelegates will be choosing their candidate, not the people.
And these are the ones endlessly lecturing everyone about Democracy, how even the thought of checking ID’s are bad because millions of their voters don’t have drivers licenses, and how the dead and illegal aliens deserve the right to vote.

Clearly, with the Democratic Party, some animals are more equal than others.
First, you have the superdelegates - they get one vote in their states’ primaries, then they get another vote as a superdelegate. Total amount of Democrat delegates is 4,050. This includes the 796 (approximately, evidently superdelegate numbers vary from day to day) superdelegates. So, almost 20% of the Democrat delegates are actually the super special superdelegates.
So, of the over 35 million democratic primary votes, they get 80% of the delegates. And then 796 PEOPLE get the remaining 20%.
Well, I guess we know which section are the pigs of the farm.
To ramble even further…
The Democratic party invented the superdelegate because they felt that ordinary blokes were not intelligent enough to pick the party’s candidate. So, they invented a mechanism to “fix” the election.
Many of the superdelegates are using their position to obtain posts in the next administration (since I’m from DE, Biden springs immediately to mind).
Some of the Superdelegates have even told the press that their vote will go to which ever candidate gives them the most “stuff”
“Ybarra wants every cent of the $20 million to go towards registering and educating eligible Mexican-American voters, who he calls the key to the White House.” Gee, that’s a “worthy” cause.
Then you have all the people screaming for Hillary to get out of the race - effectively robbing all the voters from all the states that haven’t had their primary yet of their votes
Hmmm, sounds like the Democratic party is still being ruled by the party bosses from their smoke filled back rooms (ooops, maybe not smoke filled, didn’t Peglosi ban that?)

I am laughing too hard over that whole thing that i just can not make a real comment.. just had to share I am rolling on the floor right now!
this part killed me:
“And these are the ones endlessly lecturing everyone about Democracy, how even the thought of checking ID’s are bad because millions of their voters don’t have drivers licenses, and how the dead and illegal aliens deserve the right to vote.”
But it scares me too.. i wouldnot put it past the Democrats to acquire votes from the dead!
