It’s Now a Three Ring

in the early morning on Sunday, the 24th of February 2008 by Chad

Circus that is.  Now that Ralph Nader has entered presidential race this election coming up is going to be the perfect farce.

You have the Obamenon.  Anyone who votes for him is either an outright socialist or is too stupid to understand that he doesn’t stand for anything at all, since “change” doesn’t really mean anything.  I understand that some people are sick and tired of politics and thinking that he will be different.  The too stupid part Obama [spit] voters doesn’t realize that he is still a politician.  Then you have your blatant socialist who want the government to run every step of everyone’s lives which is a very disgusting thought for what the United States is supposed to be about.  But these folks are usually the ones that will gain power over others, so it’s actually greed that drives these folks.

Clinton spoke to the annual State of the Black Union forum Saturday .Hilary is merely a meaner, more calculating, and possibly slightly less socialistic version of Obama [spit].  The issue is that everyone knows at least where exactly Hilary stands I think.  So I at least give Hilary voters some credit.  They’re socialists who want power but are at least smart enough to know the candidate they vote for.  They’re almost honest about it.  Except they won’t ever admit they’re socialists.

I love how the talk she is giving was sponsored in the picture shown by both McDonald’s and ExxonMobile.

Then you have McCain.  I think he’s honestly a good enough guy, but he’s pretty far left in the Republican party, that at least he has a good shot in the general election, being pretty much the only centrist.

Well, I’m not officially sick of politics this year.  And the onslaught has barely even started.  Thank God for Caller ID and TiVO.  They count as the official saviors of sanity.

    They’re = “they are”
    Their = possessive pronoun

  2. Haden Says:

Socialism encapsulates any government which is involved in industry or takes wealth and redistributes it. You can have an extreme version where the government owns all of the means of production and centralizes the entire economy, or you can have varying degrees of that. Our country has socialist programs in place, and has for 60 years or more. If you live in a town where the government owns the utility companies, that is socialism. When the government takes your tax money and redistributes it to corporations (for varying reasons) or agriculture, that is socialism.

What I’m getting at is that Republicans don’t hate socialism. They use that term to turn voters against Democrats. Republicans are more than happy to subsidize industry, create projects where tax money is given to private industry, making that industry a subsidized part of the government, and pass laws that make it easier for certain companies to dominate an industry. This involvement is what you call socialism. Our entire government does it.

When you accuse people of being too stupid to understand the issues (or, in your opinion, one candidate’s lack of position on the issues) in this election, you oversimplify and generalize. Socialism is not going anywhere. Even if you elected Ron Paul, the post office and military would still be run by the state (socialism). He is the least socialist candidate. When you say “Except they won’t ever admit their [sic] socialists.” that is a criticism you should take to heart. You sir, are a socialist. When you pay your taxes and vote for people that take the wealth and redistribute it, you are a socialist.

Mr. Fish - I despise people who come into a blog with absolutely nothing substantive to offer.

Text written without contractions: “They are socialists who want power but at least smart enough to know the candidate they vote for. They are almost honest about it. Except they will not ever admit they are socialists”

Read with comprehension before you attempt to correct someone else with regard to their (and yes my use of ‘their’ is correct) grammatical use.

Chad - I have to respectfully disagree with you. Obama is a marginal socialist but Hillary is an outright capitalist. By definition we do not have a socialist government or a democracy for that matter, any more than the Communists have true communism. There is not a government in existence that I can think of that has or runs their country by the true definition of their purported beliefs.

Haden stated in his entry we have socialist programs this is technically incorrect. We have social programs. We have social programs that are paid for with tax monies but that is hardly redistribution of wealth. A true socialist society redistributes its wealth to its people there are no privately owned industries, land etc.

Our politicians are snakes they speak with forked tongues and out of both sides of their mouths. Hillary, I find particularly offensive she is completely out of touch and shrewish. I get a kick out of McCain - at least he shakes up the Republicans.

I have to say Chad you need to give Nader his due. Nader is a trip and if nothing else is comedic relief to our current circus.

    Isn’t that communism, not socialism?

Obama - the empty vessal that everyone is pouring their own hopes and dreams into. I can’t blame people who want to change. I want change too. Bush has been way to free with my hard earned dollars. We need someone that will stop the flood of tax dollars to various unworthies.

And what exactly does Obama stand for? Who knows? Certainly not his own supporters

I think that this government needs to allow people the freedom to fail. They need to allow people to experience the consequences of their bad decisions - people who have kids that they can’t afford, people who were too stupid to read their mortgage documents before signing them, people who refused to leave a city in a bowl with a Cat 5 hurricaine coming.

    Back on topic.

So, Obama is the candidate who has done nothing (so therefore he has made no mistakes). Clinton - do we really know what she stands for? We’ve heard what she stands for. Until she makes a conflicting statement to the next crowd. We hear of all of her experience, most of which seems to be sipping tea with other first ladies. And she’s a Clinton. They’ve spent their entire adult lives lying to the public. So, who can really believe that what she says on the campaign trail is really what she means?

Nader - thank you. Maybe you can get some of the more extreme people to vote for you.

    McCain - sob.

I am afraid that our country is about to fall headlong into the quagmire of socialism. The government steals from the rich, to give to the lazy. They take your hardearned money, and buy votes with it. They buy votes by throwing out the promises. Universal healthcare (since when was healthcare included in the Bill of Rights), universal preschool (I’m all for preschool, if you think it is important for your child PAY FOR IT), path to citizenship for illegals (you know the people who blantantly ignore our law, steal our healthcare, steal education dollars, and seem to think that Spanish is the language of the USA), and now there is talk of joining the UN in a carbon tax (something based on the myth of global warming - yes I said it - and is really a redistribution of wealth scheme on a global level).

Unfortunately, for me there is no candidate still standing. November will be the choice of the lesser of two or three evils.

  6. Bandit Says:

I will be voting for the “Bill Clinton” of this race, John McCain. I will not like it but I see no other choice.

  7. The Vulture Says:

LOL Bandit - you are correct up to a point, communism and socialism are extremely close in definition. Communism was only separated from socialism by a few words in definition and those words were “by the community as a whole or by the state”. ‘Or by the state’ being the key separator whereas socialism is succinct making no reference to the state, just the community as a whole.

That was until the Marxist theory of Communism came into play then the definition of communism was altered to read “all economic/social activity controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single political party.”

A trip isn’t it? lol. Many people tend to take things as a slam in blogs - this definitely is not a slam so please do not take it as such.
You take care and have a wonderful day.

  8. Bandit Says:

No worries, I am not offended easily :)

    Take care.
