Berkeley City Council Retreats From Anti-Marines Offensive, Voices Support for Troops
BERKELEY, Calif. — City councilmembers who were heavily criticized for telling Marine recruiters they don’t belong here have moderated their position, saying they oppose the war in Iraq but support the troops.
Does anyone doubt the following statements I make:
- Berkeley city council members do not support the troops.
- Berkeley city council members are lying now.
- Berkeley city council members are only changing their tune because of the threat of loss of federal funds and the bad publicity that they have received.
Yeah, it’s all about the $$. Cowards. At least their original stance was what they really thought.
