This Man Should be President

mid-morning on Monday, the 31st of December 2007 by Chad

There are those I’d like to see President.

There are those that I wouldn’t prefer but would vote for.

Those that I don’t care about.

Those that I would actively oppose.

And while most have teams of analysts trying to come up with the perfect sound bite, the perfect 30 second commercial, Fred Thompson records a 17 minute message. This has been his theme, while most candidates release a bullet point list of initiatives, Fred releases policy documents.

So watch the video, let me know what you think.

And while Ron Paul himself should have more political power, you can safely ignore the whackjobs out in force in the comments.

Thompson is my second choice. Sorry. First choice - Duncan Hunter. OK, stop laughing. I realize that he hasn’t a chance. But, he really gets the border problem. He’s the only one who managed to actually build a fence. And how’s this for an statement - he think that we should revoke that whole concept of citizenship to whoever is born here. Gee, he’ got a strange idea that we should only give citizenship to people who were born here, while their parents were legitimately here… Novel concept. He also believes that the second amendment was not created for hunters, but was created in the idea that you should be able to defend yourself, your home, and your family. I could go on (and on, and on, and probably have already done so).

I’m not saying I’m in lock-step with all of his ideas. But, he happens to match my beliefs for my most important issues.
