Robbery Suspect Charged With Murder After Alleged Accomplices Killed by Homeowner
The NAACP complained that prosecutors came down too hard on Hughes, who also faces robbery, burglary and assault charges. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.
The Rev. Amos Brown, head of the San Francisco chapter of the NAACP and pastor at Hughes’ church, said the case demonstrates the legal system is racist in remote Lake County, aspiring wine country 100 miles north of San Francisco. The sparsely populated county of 13,000 people is 91 percent white and 2 percent black.
Brown and other NAACP officials are asking why the homeowner is walking free. Tests showed Edmonds had marijuana and prescription medication in his system the night of the shooting. Edmonds had a prescription for both the pot and the medication to treat depression.
“This man had no business killing these boys,” Brown said. “They were shot in the back. They had fled.”
Lets try another story. The KKK captures a black man, beat him with a baseball bat, then puts the noose around his neck, then the black man pulls a gun the KKK members run away. I somehow do not think that the Rev. Amos Brown would support letting the KKK members go free because they fled from the scene.
For the record, they three black men beat the son of the homeowner with a baseball bat so bad he has brain damage and can no longer even feed himself.
Hey Amos – I’m willing to put the gun to the head of the final attacker and pull the trigger myself. Because that’s what should be done with violent criminals who break into someone’s home and brutally attacks the people inside.

This just demonstrates that black hypocrisy is alive and well in America. It also goes a long way to explain why America will never achive racial harmony.
As far as I am concerned, the kid that was beaten, the one who can not even feed himself, was murdered that night.
Just because a human heart continues to beat, that does not mean that the victim has not lost everything that makes him a human being.

Figures. It would be nice to hear Rev Brown offer some sympathy for the real victims. A man of God indeed.
If a man can not defend his own family in his own home then we really are @ the mercy of criminals.
The double-standard is alive and well!

r u kidding me? this does not surprise me…what surprises me is that no black leaders stand up and ask why black kids have a complete disregard for the law and any respect for authority. It’s because the answer is that the parents don’t teach their kids to respect anything. Blacks are 13% of the population yet are responsible for 70% of murders in the states, (and here’s the best part) 9 out of 10 of those murders are black on black. Black males are violent and don’t hang around to raise the kids they father (over and over again).

I just read this story in the Phila.Daily news 11/16/07.typical of the naacp to blame the victims and not their own people when it comes to getting caught for a crime.Amos Brown is a total racist.In the white community,if someone commits a crime we applaud the police for doing their job.But in the black community all you hear is how the criminals are being treated unfairly.Get your priorities straight and try to join the human race.Stop using color as a crutch.Thats why the white community doesn’t accept the black community.All you do is turn your heads when a crime is commited and that is why your communities and people are avoided.This man was defending his home.And what if the community is 91percent white.These people earned their homes.I hope Renato gets the death penalty for he deserves the punishment for invading this mans home and crippling his stepson.Defend yourself America.We’re not gonna take no more.

Beat my kid with a baseball bat and I would be happy to fill you full of holes as well. I wouldn’t be concerned if you were black, white or purple polka-dotted. I would however shoot to kill.

First of all, race should not be a factor in this case. Right is right and wrong is dead wrong. Rev. Amos Brown is an ass and has no business having a church let alone being in charge of a national organization.
Those 3 intruders should have been home asleep preparing to go to a job in the AM. This is what you call real, street justice. I would protect my family as well regardless of color. I am black.

See that’s the thing. Americans as a general rule have respect for the rule of law.
That’s the disconnect between the groups for illegal immigration and the rest of the country. Other countries throughout the world don’t have that respect, so when their people choose to sneak into the US, they don’t have that culture of abiding by laws. Since their culture never had that respect. That’s why they can’t figure out why what they’re doing by sneaking across the borders is wrong.
I see the same thing here. This guy wants special treatment for the group he is representing beyond what the rest of the country gets. The rest of the country is howling mad about it. Not for racism or anything else. But because they want the same rules to apply to everyone. That’s the whole idea behind this country. If a real civil rights leader appeared that said this should be the rules for everyone and had a persausive argument, then people tend to get behind that.

I take it that you are not a man of God.
I can see that you are a man concerned with the will of the people, but who is not committed to keeping the living word of God before their faces.
You are like Aaron and Balaam. You want to appease the people and you are a true profiteer instead of a true prophet. May God restrain your maddness.
Mr. Brown, Pastor, Rev. Man of God. You know that we are not allowed by the Bible to go beyond what is written. You are way out of bounds siding with the gay community against the Word of God. Repent! Stop talking against Godliness, Man.
Like Festus told the Apostle Paul, As Paul was saying these things in his defense, Festus exclaimed loudly, “You have lost your mind, Paul! Your great learning is driving you insane!” Paul was preaching Christ, like you are supposed to be doing, you are preachin same sex marriages are cool.
You do stand apart from the righteousness that comes by faith in Christ.
