My Burden

just before lunchtime on Sunday, the 15th of April 2007 by Chad

Let’s just say, I wrote almost $11,000 worth of checks to the gummint yesterday… OMFG that is painful.  But still better than giving away that much money in an interest free loan over the past year!

Anyone else either giving or getting an obscene amount of money?

Actually it is better to play W-4 games until you get it as close to zero as possible. To be honest I’d rather get 11k at the end of the year instead of having to pay it….

    That’s just me…and YMMV.

In the end get a smart tax accountant — they’ll work magic you haven’t seen before.

I have an accountant… have to because of the partnership. And she does good, just that we made a lot less in 2005 than 2006 with the mrs’s working full time and one big side job. And I’d love to be at zero, thats what I normally target. In fact, last year I filed quarterly for an additional several thousand, but not nearly enough, since that was based on the previous year.

All that matters is that in an hour, I’m off to the bank to beg for a loan…

I had to cut the feds a check for $4 this year & should be getting around $130 or so back from the state.
