Derision

in the early morning on Tuesday, the 20th of June 2006 by Chad

Anyone who says anything about Geneva conventions and the terrorists, and close Guantamano because its cruel, well, they can go fuck themselves with something large and spikey.
Why? This is why.

An Iraqi military official said the bodies showed signs of torture and of being killed in “a barbaric way.”

Can anyone give me any reason at all why we should not bring back the time honored practice of burying Islamic terrorists in pig skins? Notice I didn’t say dead Islamic terrorists…

    From the Graphictruth trackback:
“I have a very solid reason why we should not act as he suggests: Civilized human beings have the duty to be better than that. Anyone that would do as he suggests is undeserving of the fruits of civilization or the company of civilized human beings, and should be confined or expelled, as may seem convenient, on pain of death.”

Must be nice to sit high on the mountain, looking down at the savages below.

See, here is how it works when you’re not smoking dope: Shortly after Saddam was overthrown, the terrorists who were in Iraq and those streaming in starting their attacks.
If my policy of burying them in pigskin was followed, how long do you think the insurrection would have continued? How many innocent civilians would be alive today? Our troop levels would probably be down around the 10 thousand mark, most of them training the Iraqi army and police forces.

Sorry dude, you wrote a very eloquent rebuttal, but here’s the problem: you’re not seeing anyone outside of your own little group of civilized people. You’re quoting professional soldiers from history, who also fought other professional soldiers.

When you get back from the middle east and southwest asia (AS I HAVE) you may have a new perspective on what it means to be civilized. And until you have been there, in Iraq as I have, you can take your 101 fighting keyboardist crap and shove it where it belongs. Since your definition of civilized is to sit there and tsk tsk those with opinions that don’t match yours.

I just never understood we have to follow the rules of the Geneva Convention when fighting a country that doesn’t. I do know why the GC is in place but it seems to put us at an unfair disadvantage in a situation such as this. I thought the saying was, “All is fair in love and war,” not “All is fair in love and war but only if we follow the rules of the Geneva Convention.”
