Thanksgiving
just before lunchtime on Thursday, the 24th of November 2005 by Chad
You know its Thanksgiving when the SciFi channel is showing Army of Darkness.
In about 10 minutes, I’ll be taking the bird outta the brine, washing it off, and then trying to figure out where the hell the roasting pan is after our move. I do hope its in that little used cabinet above the refridgerator.
This will be the first Thanksgiving me and my wife have spent alone. And the first in about 15 years that I haven’t spent it with my family. But hey, thats what webcams and msn messenger video chat is for…

Mmmmm…
Brined Turkey…
We’ve been brining our turkey for several years now. It’s the best.
Arr! Happy Turkey Day to ye, and ye’re crew! Hope they get an extra ration of grog…

I do like brining turkey better than deep frying. One, its a lot safer, but still requires a bit of planning.
The trick is to wait at least 20-30 minutes before cutting, or else you’ll end up with turkey juice on the ceiling.
